Diya Dinesh

Coming from a school with very few Indians, I never had that built-in sense of community, until I joined the UCL Indian Society. I want to give back to this incredible community by ensuring we have the resources to grow, celebrate, and thrive.

As Head of Sponsorships, my objectives are to build strong relationships with businesses so we can take our events to the next level. With my background in business analysis and finance, I know how to talk numbers and negotiate deals that go beyond just a “logo on a poster” sponsorship. I want sponsors who genuinely invest in us - whether that’s through funding, mentorship, or ideally free food.

I’ve had experience convincing 150+ households to donate to charity, which means I can definitely convince companies to support one of the biggest cultural societies at UCL. My experience in business strategy and financial planning gives me the confidence to secure meaningful partnerships that will benefit both sponsors and our society.

If elected, I’ll work to secure more funding, better partnerships, and exciting new opportunities for the society. Vote for me as Head of Sponsorships, and let’s make sure we never have to cut corners on chai and celebrations!

Suhani Varshney

I am excited to apply for the role of Head of Sponsorships for the Indian Society. With a strong passion for promoting Indian culture and a keen interest in forging valuable partnerships, I believe I can contribute significantly to the society’s growth.

My ability to communicate effectively and build relationships will allow me to secure sponsorships that enhance our events and member experience. I have experience in negotiating deals, liaising with external organizations, and managing sponsorship agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships. By leveraging my networking skills, I aim to establish long-term collaborations with businesses that align with our society’s vision.

Additionally, I am highly organized and proactive, ensuring that sponsorship proposals are professional and compelling. I plan to introduce creative sponsorship strategies that provide value to both sponsors and society members. My goal is to secure financial and in-kind support to elevate our events, making them more engaging and accessible.

I am eager to bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and strategic thinking to this role. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute and help the Indian Society thrive.
