Hi everyone!
I’m truly excited to apply for Welfare Officer of the UCL Indian Dance Society! Dance has always been a huge part of my life as I have been learning and performing both Bharatanatyam and Bollywood from a young age. Being a member of this society has been one of the highlights of my time at UCL and I want to share and celebrate the vibrancy and energy of Indian dance with the UCL community. I want to extend my love for dance by organising collaborations with other societies and creating volunteering opportunities, like hosting workshops and teaching at schools. This role perfectly combines my passion for dance with my desire to support others and my experience in teaching dance to younger students will allow me to execute this role effectively.
I’m eager to plan meaningful initiatives that bring our members closer together while also making a positive impact beyond our society. I want to create spaces where members feel supported and inspired, while also using dance as a way to uplift others in the wider community. My goal is to make Indian Dance Society an even more welcoming environment where every member feels heard, valued, and motivated to share their love for dance and I would love your support to help me do so!
