Hey, I’m Guneeka, and over the past year as a Welfare Officer, IDS has truly felt like a family to me, and I’ve met some of my closest friends here. Beyond welfare responsibilities, I’ve actively contributed to our social media, designing promotional posts, launching the brand-new regional series, and I also regularly assist with creating social media content for HSoc and KCsoc. I’ve also led on a nationally recognised charity's marketing strategies, further strengthening my skills in outreach and engagement. Having trained in Bharatanatyam for over 16 years and a Bollywood dance fan, I deeply value the cultural importance of our society within UCL's community.
My experience has given me a strong understanding of various marketing techniques, from creating promotional content for Instagram and Facebook, to promotional videos. The positive response and increased engagement have reinforced the effectiveness of our strategies. My proficiency in Canva enables me to craft visually appealing, professional content that resonates with our audience.
Beyond design, I understand social media trends and audience behavior. I would like to engage with TikTok/ fun video content more, capturing a new side of social media. As Social Media Officer, I aim to elevate our digital presence with fresh, creative campaigns that promote our events and strengthen our famioy. IDS thrives on passion, and I’d love to continue contributing to its growth by making our platforms more interactive and engaging.
Hi! My name is Vedika and I believe I am a good fit for the role of Social Media Director in Indian Dance Society primarily because I have experience with using Canva in home projects I have completed in the past. In addition, I enjoy working with other people and have been part of many group projects during my secondary and sixth form education. Some examples of this include creating and delivering language lessons to primary school children, organising a fundraising bake sale, and partaking in a group ePoster making competition for Imperial College London. This is another example of where my creative skills were put to use as I aided in designing this poster on Canva.
I have been a regular member of the weekly dance classes and have seen first-hand how the videos are shot, which may be useful in my role. On a final note, I am a keen doomscroller on Instagram reels so that aspect of this position should be greatly enjoyable :)
HELLO!!!
I'm Anushka Daga, standing for the position of Social Media Director :)
As a part of the design team of my highschool's editorial board, a major responsibility of my team was creating and maintaining our school's Instagram page. Through carrying out my associated duties, I picked up skills in Canva, Sketchbook, Medibang, and Youcut - I am sure I will be able to quickly and regularly produce content for the Indian Dance Society's social page!
I'd really appreciate it if you vote for me! In fact, i'll be devastated if you don't. No pressure though. :)
