I'm standing for History Society President because I want to create a more inclusive and vibrant atmosphere for all history lovers on campus.
As Events Officer for the society this year, I successfully organised a variety of events to cater to different interests, including cookie decorating and games night. I also managed our social media, redesigning our logo and creating a consistent, professional brand identity.
As president, I will ensure that:
- We continue to expand our events and socials throughout the year, including in Term 3, so members always have the opportunity to connect and unwind.
- We organise more hands-on crafting events, such as pottery night, to make our activities more interactive.
- We strengthen collaborations with other history societies across London and beyond to create larger, more diverse events- potentially even day trips to other cities ;)
- We host a Spring/Summer ball to enjoy the warmer weather :).
- We host more engaging talks, debates and educational events covering unique historical topics to spark discussion.
With my experience on this and other society committees, I believe I'm the best fit for the role. I have a deep understanding of how the society functions, I'm organised and I'm a great team player. We've had a really great year and I'm determined to ensure that the society experience for 2025/2026 is even better.
Thanks for reading and I hope you'll vote for me to be your next president :) <3
