Namaskaram! I am nominating myself for president with one goal in mind - to ensure Hindu Soc remains a place of celebration and learning. Having participated in Rangeela this year and frequenting the Sanskaar sessions, HSoc has been a safe haven for me, providing both introspection and inclusivity - qualities I would hold sacred when planning events. After speaking with many members to understand what the society could be missing, one theme stood out - celebrating under-represented areas of India and their rich cultures, specifically the South and East. I have a genuine passion for planning events. - as president, I will ensure strong coordination with the committee and external partners to provide high-quality events at affordable prices for you. By involving the entire society, including all members, I will work tirelessly to introduce fresh ideas for future events - such as grand festival celebrations, mandir trips across England, and fundraisers for charitable causes - building on the incredibly successful events already established at HSoc. These would be built on three pillars: tying you to the society, the religion, and the wider community, ensuring events for everyone to enjoy! Above all, I want to keep alive the joy and celebration we all love about Hinduism, bringing new initiatives and my boundless energy to make them a reality. In short, by voting for me as president, you can be assured your membership in UCL's largest society is in safe hands.

Namaste everyone!
To me, hindu society is a second home, a place to live your dharma through a variety of culturally enriching experiences such as weekly aartis, mandir trips and new sports like kho kho and kabbadi. I feel as though I have fully engrossed myself in everything Hsoc has to offer this year and made so many amazing friends which is why I am so passionate to lead Hsoc as president next year.
As a FYR, I have been exposed to all parts of Hindu society and I have gained so many valuable experiences that will enable me to make a good president. From leading kho kho sessions, I have learnt to condense my thoughts to more efficiently convey my points. The creative freedom I had when co-leading a sanskaar session on yoga and mindfulness was an amazing experience and something I would love to continue into next year. I would like to bring a larger focus onto spirituality, through more regular yoga and meditation sessions. I feel as though stress management is a critical part of uni life and through initiating these sessions more people will be able to use Hindu society as a comforting family to unwind and go to lectures more focused. As an FYR, being in and around the planning of our flagship events such as Rangeela and Dball has helped me to understand what needs to be done backstage and that is why I feel confident in my ability to recreate these events bigger and better.
Join me on this dharmic journey through which I would love to lead you as your next Hsoc president.
