I am standing for the role of outreach officer of the Hindu Society as I am confident in building relationships and ensuring seamless coordination with external partners and will ensure that all external relations are managed with professionalism, efficiency and a clear vision . This society will only grow and flourish with strong relationships with external partners, meaningful collaborations, and expanding its network. As Outreach Officer, I will work to build and maintain valuable connections with external partners, ensuring seamless coordination for events, sponsorships, and community engagement. My vision is to establish long-lasting relationships with businesses, organizations, and influential figures that align with the values of our society. By fostering these partnerships, I aim to enhance the quality of our events, secure valuable opportunities for our members, and strengthen our society’s presence within the wider community. I will actively work to expand the society's network, secure meaningful partnerships and maintain these in the long-term to help this society grow and deliver better events.
Hi my name is Adi Hegde. I’m an Indian from Scotland—yes, you heard that right, an Indian from Scotland. A first-year economics student (at least that one fits the stereotype), and I’m excited to apply for this role.
Outreach is often seen as an external effort—bringing in more people—but it starts from within. By inspiring and engaging our current members, we can create a stronger foundation to extend our reach and welcome people into our community.
Ever since I was a kid, Tesco’s slogan, Every Little Helps, has stuck with me. That’s exactly the approach I want to bring to Hindu Soc—doing my bit to make an already great society even better. Volunteering in a dog shelter for 3 months in Bangalore, India was an example of this.
I believe in building genuine, personal connections with firms and external partners to ensure smooth coordination for our biggest events. Strong relationships mean they don’t just work with us—they understand our vision and want to help us achieve it.
As Finance Director of a startup, I’ve developed strategic planning and management skills to drive success. My experience as captain of various representative cricket teams has strengthened my ability to lead, adapt, and bring people together from diverse backgrounds. Whether it’s negotiating with sponsors, organising events, or rallying a team, I thrive on bringing people together to achieve a common goal.
Bye for now! I look forward to meeting you all and sharing my vision for the role!

Hi, my name is Dhruv and I study medicine. I am applying for Outreach officer!
I am keen to apply for this as I thrive in roles requiring strong communication, collaboration, and organization. My background makes me well-suited for this role. In sixth form, I founded and led a medical society, where I invited guest speakers from the healthcare field. This required effective organization, external communication, and event coordination. Additionally, I worked with teachers to plan sessions and engaged with peers to tailor content, enhancing my multitasking and collaboration skills which makes me well suited for this role.
As outreach officer, I will work closely with other branches of committee to ensure seamless coordination between third parties for events such as Rangeela. My role allows a more even spread of the workload leading up to events. As the primary liaison for external partners , I will be networking and building relationships with external firms looking to collaborate with the society.
My involvement with the Hindu Society has been incredible, especially with sports events, Rangeela, and Diwali Ball. I felt extremely fulfilled after attending weekly sessions and Seva which I will continue next year. I want to start a new initiative of trips to temples i.e. during festivals, organising this with other universities too.
With my proactive mindset and dedication, I am confident in my ability to strengthen external relationships and contribute to the society’s growth.

Hello my Hindu brothers and sisters, I’m Aniket, I’m a year 1 medical student, and I’m running for outreach secretary. In this role, I have to talk to DJs, photographers, and to people of other universities too. I’ve got many skills that will allow me to strive in this role, learnt from all the prep I've done to get to this uni and this course, but that’s overshadowed by the wisdom I’ve gained from my gruelling job as a Brawl Stars and Clash Royale veteran.
In this job, talking to your teammates is a must; deciding what brawlers we will employ, or giving instructions to your team on the next general strategy. This will be invaluable when talking and negotiating with outside parties.
In addition, it’s taught me how to manage my time. The road to the next arena is hard and time consuming, and balancing that with your A-levels, entrance tests, volunteering at hospitals, extracurriculars, gym (I swear I go), and hanging with friends was difficult, but I was still able to manage. So basically, I’ll be able to handle all the stuff I have to do in this role, which will probably be a lot. But don’t worry. I do NOT procrastinate.
But in all seriousness, I’m the best man for the job. I’ve got experience managing stuff back at school in different societies, reaching out to doctors for my school Medsoc, convincing them to give us a talk, doing a lot of public speaking and also leading many group projects.
I’ll also get the most banging DJs for Diwali ball, and the best inter-uni events.
