Kamil Bensouda

Dear UCL Golf Society Members,

I am Kamil Bensouda, a +5 handicap golfer and a long-time member of the Moroccan national team. Golf has been a central part of my life for over a decade, allowing me to compete at the highest levels, including winning the Arab Junior Championship and securing a second-place finish at the Junior World Championship. Beyond my competitive experience, I have worked closely with teammates and coaches to develop strategies that enhance both individual and team performance.

My leadership experience extends beyond the golf course. As an executive at UCL EFS and UCL Entrepreneurs, I have successfully organized high-profile events, collaborated with industry leaders, and contributed to fostering strong professional networks within UCL. Additionally, my entrepreneurial background through KamInnovate has strengthened my ability to manage operations, coordinate teams, and drive impactful initiatives.

As president of the UCL Golf Society, I would be committed to growing our community, enhancing opportunities for players of all levels, and strengthening our presence in university competitions. I aim to create a more dynamic and engaging experience for all members, whether through training sessions, networking opportunities, or competitive events.

I would be honored to lead the society and build upon the incredible foundation that has already been established. Thank you for your consideration

Best regards,
Kamil Bensouda

Hi All,

After a year working in the committee, I feel that I am best for the President role due to my organisational skills. From running the weekly range sessions to setting up the scramble competition, I feel like the experiences I have had this year will allow me to run this society efficiently next year!

Below is my manifesto outlining how I plan to improve the club in the upcoming academic year:

  • More on-course golf:
    • monthly 6 or 9 hole scrambles to apply the skills you have learnt in the range sessions
  • More Social Media presence
    • aim to film and post fun videos on our instagram in hopes of gaining a following, which will allow us to get more outreach oppurtinities and potentially aa sponsorship
  • Improved rental equipment/range
    • will look on second hand market to purchase more forgiving clubs for our begginers to use, and to search for a higher quality range earlier in order to improve the experince for our members.
  • Incentives for competitive team
    • With an ongoing concern for the competitive team not meeting the minimum numbers for matches, I will work with the team captain to incentivise our players to attend matches. I also plan for our society to enter varsity next year to beat kings!
  • Improved efficiency of committtee
    • Set up different channels to communicate (via discord or whatsapp), so the committee members not involved don't feel overwhelmed.
    • workload to be spread more evenly amongst committee
    • To have most ground work done before term starts

Hopefully I will see you guys again!
