Ahmad Arefin

My name is Ahmad Arefin (you may know me as The Gamexpert). I am currently a second-year undergraduate History student, and the Game Admin for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. I have an immense passion for video games, and I love playing games from all genres and publishers, both casually and competitively. I would love to be the UCL Gaming Society Welfare Officer, and have a chance to give back to the community, and contribute to everyone's welfare.

I want to continue the Gaming Society's safe space check-ins and help members feel supported in the society. I believe that mental health and wellbeing is incredibly important, and I am committed to ensuring that the society continues to be safe, welcoming environment for everyone. I will be friendly, supportive and approachable, and make sure all members feel included, represented and heard. I will always be open to feedback and advice. I want to make sure that no matter what you're going through, you can always reach out for help.

I look forward to standing as Welfare Officer and hope you'll vote for me in this year's elections!

Wasi Iftekar

Welfare is my goal!

Hey! My name is Wasi and I'm running for Welfare Officer!
Some of you may already know me, as I was the Esports Officer and President in previous years, and as a result, I have a lot of experience interacting with the community here at UCL Gaming, as well as working together in the committee to support the society in its decisions and event organisation.
I'd love to become Welfare Officer for UCL Gaming because I love this society and have had a lot of time meeting and hanging out with members of this community.

I'd love to be a supportive pillar for members of society who may want to reach out and seek advice regarding their own physical and mental wellbeing. I also want to be able to make sure that members of our community are comfortable reaching out in regards to giving feedback regarding the society and to seek help when they have complaints or grievances.

Gaming Soc has been a wonderful part of my uni life here at UCL so far (6 years and counting!) and I'd love to welcome new members to our society and be able to involve them in our community and make sure they can have as much fun as I've had at my time in gaming society!
