My name is Romany, currently, I am a second year undergraduate studying Cell and Developmental biology and I am also one of the third team captains this year.
I joined UCLWFC without having played football properly prior. That year, I played with the third team and met the girls I today call my best friends. At the end of that year, I wanted to give back to the team that meant so much to me by running for captain. Now, I want to go one step further and give back to the club that means so much to me by running for president. UCLWFC means the world to me, and quite frankly, if it weren’t for this club during my freshers era, I would have likely dropped out of university.
I believe I have the capacity to be a president that you deserve. Not only can I be organised, reliable and motivated but I have a passion for this club. If were to be elected, you could expect:
- A forum before so the outspoken opinions can be heard.
- Better and more opportunistic trialling process
- An upgrade option for memberships
- More collaboration between teams outside of socials
- Propose the idea of a mystery tour in term 1
- Collaborate with the fitness sec, to find more TeamUCL opportunities for our club
- Try to change our home ground from Hackney - we shouldn’t have to dread home games
- Find a better training ground that is better suited.
If elected, I hope to lead UCLWFC on this forward trajectory it is on. My priority is to be a service to the club, to give my all and, most importantly, to bleed purple.

Hello UCLWFC! Many of you will know me as being one of the current UCLWFC Social Secretaries. Being in this role has provided me with a key insight into how our club is run, inspiring me to apply to be your future president. This academic year we have seen a huge increase in club members, making it impossible to ignore that the future of the club promises growth. An individual who is passionate about this future and generally has a love for women's football is necessary to lead this growth.
As your president my key ideas will include unity and the promotion of a healthy club environment. Approaching this with the necessary confidence will allow me to integrate members across all teams, in order to facilitate attainment and provide a positive experience. With a skillset prepared to handle all necessary and everyday requirements - including experience in planning events, working with committee and awareness of procedures to correspond with the SU. I believe I am the best candidate for this role.
I also plan to increase the number of committee meetings, allowing for club continuity. Along with guaranteeing there are sufficient facilities and equipment, ensuring the development of club members and allowing players to thrive.
I would love to be the individual that can establish this future for the club. (With the assurance of a smooth transition from Sophia's reign). I hope you will all vote for me to lead the club and guarantee its development in the next academic year. Thanks!!
