Candidates

Chris Galicia Escudero

Hey guys! I'm Chris, a 2nd year Economics and Statistics student and I’m running to be your next Events Officer :O The past two years with you guys has been nothing but wonderful and full of core memories. The loud energy and sense of familial community I’ve experienced here have motivated me to give back and help continue the legacy our previous committees have built and make it just as enjoyable for you guys too!

Being the Treasurer and Assistant Coach for UCL Taekwondo, I manage the finances for a 60+ member club and help ensure our trainings and competitions run smoothly. These roles have shaped my organisational skills, teaching the importance of communication. As Events Officer, my aim is to work closely with committee and you - acting as a bridge to ensure our events run smoothly behind the scenes. I’m committed to helping deliver the best experiences for you all, whether it’s through fun socials, formal events, or exciting collaborations!

Over the last two years, I’ve built great connections with other Filipino Societies in London. If elected, I’ll push for more collabs - getting us involved in the next Filsoc Gala and rally a team for Sportsfest. I’m keen to create more chances for us to connect with the wider Filsoc community.

I would like to thank current and previous committees for the opportunities they have provided which has given me so much faith in our society and now I'm willing to provide the same energy to uphold the high standards they have set.

Salamat po :)

Louis Anthony Jude Saez

Hello guys, this is Louis and I am also running for events officer too because I ALSO believe a strong president needs a strong events coordinator who can plan exciting and memorable filsoc events!

Although I may not look like it, I have a strong network so you can trust me to contact and organise events with other brands and societies. Now, some people may argue that I am an introvert, and that is true BUT I am an effective communicator whether it be through email or in-person when I need to, and with filsoc, I promise to work closely with fellow committee and to make sure all events-related requests and feedback from filsoc members are heard.

If you want a young, tall, punctual, and organised active filsoc member who will handle the role of being events officer seriously to ensure more exciting and collaborative events will continue to take place in the future, can work together with social sec to record and edit all events (tiktok: louis.8280), and will ensure all voices are heard, then vote for me, Louis because ‘If you want a SAY, then vote for SAEZ’!

Aaron Roy

Hiii filsoc, my name is Aaron, I study chemical engineering and I am excited to be running for events officer. My first year in filsoc so far has been insane from the big back outings to the parol making and the take me out event. After going to all these events, I have become eager to become a part of organising events myself and introduce new and unique ones for everyone to experience.

In addition, filsoc has also allowed me to find some of my closest friends and have provided a very welcoming and supportive community that I can always rely on which has made my first year uni experience truly special. I intend to be a part of this committee to continue making this society feel like a family where everyone is welcome and can participate in many enjoyable events.

Current ideas for potential events are:

  • Filsoc go to trampoline/theme park
  • Boodle fights
  • Sports day with filsoc families
  • Talent show (if anyone tryna show off their hidden talents)

Through studying engineering, I believe my hardworking and creative mentality can translate if you vote for me as events officer. I promise I will take this role very seriously and ensure every event is an inclusive and enjoyable one. From my experience so far, uni is tough but filsoc have really helped me enjoy the whole uni experience altogether and even study nights with filsoc have motivated me to be productive and work harder. Remember, uni is only serious if you make it serious. Vote AARON for EVENTS OFFICER.

Stephanie Onchuru

As your events officer, I plan to come up with engaging Filsoc events that cater to everyone, ensuring that every member has the best experience.

I’m not just aiming for a great time, I’m going to make it happen! I’m all about having fun, meeting new people and socialising, and I’ll ensure our events reflect that same energy.

Since becoming a member, I've really enjoyed the current committee's events and witnessed their positive impact on the society. As a non-Filipino, it was nice to experience how hospitable the society was in welcoming me in with open arms, and I want to maintain that inclusive environment for all members, new and current.

Maintaining this welcoming environment requires strong teamwork and event planning, and I’m self-assured in my collaboration and venue coordination skills. Being an events officer role requires a blend of creativity and dependability. I will consistently deliver high-quality events, meet deadlines, generate profit for the society, and take full ownership of my responsibilities. I’m confident as your future events officer, I’ll be a proactive and valuable member of your committee.

From hosting karaoke events to charity events and even debuts, I’m excited to help improve the society by being resourceful and creating memorable experiences for you all, hoping to introduce unique ideas in hopes of creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed :))

-  Let’s Steph it up this year! Vote Steph for Events Officer!! ♡

Angela Dayap

I take great pride in fostering memorable experiences for others. As Events Officer, I wouldn't just organise events—I’d genuinely enjoy it. Meeting new people, building memories, and strengthening friendships within our societies is key to our university life, and I’m excited to shape these moments for our Filipino community.

Since I was young, I’ve loved hosting. I was fortunate enough to have a debut. Organising it taught me skills in communication, management, prioritisation, budgeting and problem-solving. Through three years in hospitality, I've learned what makes people smile and found joy in brightening their day. As Events Officer, I hope to bring smiles to our members faces, and relish in their joy as well.

I envision offering a variety of events and activities at different times and locations, making them more accessible and giving everyone a chance to connect. Whether you're creative, sporty, a party-goer, or prefer a chill vibe, there should be something for everyone. This ensures more frequent interactions and stronger bonds while reducing barriers like travel, schedule clashes, and affordability.

I’m deeply dedicated to our society and would be honoured to represent it as Events Officer. I’m ready to put in the time, effort, and creativity this role demands and am eager to learn and grow along the way. I can’t wait to create the best Filsoc events in London.

It would be a privilege to contribute to our community and share that Pinoy Pride with all of you!
