Hey, I’m Romilly, a third-year Anthropology student. I’m running for the role of President of Era Journal because I deeply believe in the sense of community and incredible talent this society brings together. Era is defined by the people who contribute to it, and as president, I would strive to cultivate it as a welcoming, inclusive space that continues to nurture and support student writers and artists, be it through organising engaging events or actively listening to and implementing student feedback. I’m committed to ensuring that Era is a platform for a diverse array of voices, celebrating different perspectives and fostering an environment where everyone feels represented and encouraged to share their work.
If elected, I would focus on working closely with editors and curators to maintain the high calibre of output Era produces, whilst also making meaningful efforts to broaden its reach and accessibility. I have a keen eye for detail and logistics, work well in collaborative environments, and bring the artistic sensitivity essential for this role. With two years of experience in Era and continued engagement whilst on a year abroad, I believe I’ve developed a strong understanding of its responsibilities and dynamics. I’d love the chance to give back to this community and help it continue to thrive.
