As a civil engineering student at UCL with a strong interest in investment and venture capital, I am eager to become venture funds executive for the Entrepreneurs Society. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in financial analysis, analysing investment potential and portfolio management, all essential skills for a career in venture capital as well as various other careers. My problem-solving skills from engineering help me develop an analytical mindset which enables me to assess start-ups logically. My leadership roles as year 1 course representative and other representative roles throughout different student organizations have strengthened my communications, pitching and negotiations skills. with the skills I developed, I believe I can effectively communicate the wants and needs of both the founders and investors in a way which is both professional and convincing.
As someone who has experience in start-ups and pop up stores I understand the key components required to create a successful and profitable pop up. By joining the Venture Fund team, I aim to support and apply my skills to contribute positively to the society. I also aim to develop my skills and experience further and am looking forward for the opportunity to learn from all of the wonderful people within the committee. I am eager to make a real impact and help shape the future of student-led innovation.
