Vote GRACE WU for EFS President!!

Hi, I’m Doris! As the Secretary of EFS this year, I’ve shadowed the President and worked in the leadership team, gaining firsthand exposure to every event and division. Now, I’m ready to step up as your President and make EFS the best it can be—for YOU:
More Mentorship & Career Support
- Rejected by mentorship this year? I’ll expand the mentorship program so more members get the support they need.
- Struggling with internship prep? I’ll introduce weekly technical workshops covering Markets, Investment Banking, and Quant — so you can SMASH those interviews when the time comes!
More Engaging & Impactful Events
- Tired of passive fireside chats? I’ll replace them with interactive networking events and large-scale finance conferences so you can connect directly with firm representatives & alumni.
- Also, expect more social events and competitions to have fun while connecting with peers!
More Tailored Opportunities
- I’ll open up sub-divisions for Finance (Markets, IBD, Quant) and Business (PE/VC, Real Estate, Consulting) to bring more targeted events and opportunities in your specific fields of interest.
- This also means more opportunities for you to join the committee and work with us!
I believe in a leadership style that puts YOU first. As President, I won’t be a distant leader—I’ll be your friend, your advocate, and your voice. I’ll actively listen to your feedback and deliver the experience & support you actually need.
Vote for Doris—For a Society That Works for YOU.

If you had invested just $1,000 in NVIDIA in 2003, you’d have over $600,000 today. Wise investments pay off, and- through my 3-pillar strategy below- I hope you see that voting for me is one of them.
- Enhance flagship events
Building on EFS's tradition of hosting high-profile events, such as fireside chats with figures like Jonathan Haskel and Jean-Jacques Guiony, I aim to further diversify our event portfolio and provide members with comprehensive insights and networking opportunities. - Grow Bloomsbury Capital
As a current analyst at the fund, my goal is to grow awareness of Bloomsbury Capital’s reach; for instance, by inviting members of EFS to attend bi-weekly pitches through an application process. This would give them exposure to the structured investment strategy the fund follows. BC is a place where we analyze idiosyncratic opportunities in equities; by inviting non-BC students to sit in on investment pitches, we’ll create an environment where learning meets capturing alpha. -
Strengthen Mentorship
I will organize tailored events for first, second and third year students, addressing the specific challenges and opportunities at each stage. This approach ensures that every member receives relevant, impactful experiences. Additionally, we’ll organize exclusive career development sessions covering CV building, technical interview prep, and networking strategies. To make this possible, your vote is crucial. Together, let’s make EFS the best it can be. I value your support.

Because I want to prove that asking nicely works. Please vote for me...

Having served as the First-Year Representative for Finance, I gained an understanding of how the society operates and the impact it can have on members. Now, as I step into my second year, I want to build on this by elevating the society’s offerings, ensuring it provides unparalleled value to students particularly through corporate sponsorships and partnerships.
My track record of securing 13 Spring Week offers, combined with my upcoming Summer Internship at Houlihan Lokey, allows me to bring a unique perspective on recruitment. With my summer secured, I can dedicate my time fully to leading the society rather than focusing on applications. I aim to implement a structured recruitment mentorship program, providing targeted guidance, application workshops, and networking opportunities to help members secure top roles.
Beyond recruitment, I want to expand the society’s industry reach by increasing partnerships with leading firms across finance. My experience across the industry through completing summer internships at LCP and Evolution Capital positions me well to bridge the gap between students and professionals. By utilising my network and industry exposure, I will ensure we host top-tier panels, competitions, and networking events.
Ultimately, I am standing for President to transform the society into the premier launchpad for students pursuing careers in finance and economics, equipping them with the skills, insights, and opportunities needed to succeed.

Dear EFS members!
I’m Sonya, a first-year Economics and Business student and a current Marketing Executive at EFS. My hands-on experience within EFS, from helping organise events to marketing them, has equipped me with the understanding of the inner workings of EFS. I will harness this knowledge, along with my experience at investment banks, such as Morgan Stanley, to not only grow the society but also each of our members’ careers.
I am confident in dedicating all my energy to helping UCL students from all academic departments utilise EFS’ resources to launch into top financial industry opportunities. While ensuring the continuation of the amazing work of the current president and committee, I will also build upon their visions. My main agenda involves:
Collaboration - Increasing our social and networking events with other top universities worldwide such as LSE, Imperial and Oxbridge.
Development - To vary our society events to fit different members’ professional aspirations including venture capital, start-up and consulting.
Guidance - To not only continue helping students gain top jobs in all finance sectors but also up-scaling our mentorship programme. This will be coupled with tools like summer and spring technical courses, a knowledge bank and access to a UCL alumni bank.
Sponsorship – Ensuring that our sponsorship grows allowing an increase in events, such as exclusive office visits ensuring the best opportunities for our students.
Thank you for your time and consideration!

I’m running for EFS President because I have the vision, drive, and execution to take this society to the next level. My experience in leading a student-led company and running my school’s economics society has given me the skills to think long-term, build high-impact initiatives, and deliver real results. EFS is already a powerhouse, but I don’t believe in maintaining the status quo—I want to elevate it. That means securing top-tier partnerships, expanding our influence, and giving our members direct access to industry leaders. I’m not here for empty promises or surface-level changes—I’m here to build something that lasts. Leadership, to me, is about creating an environment where people thrive, push their limits, and walk away with tangible career opportunities. Whether it’s through targeted networking, exclusive mentorship programs, or a more structured approach to career progression, I want EFS to be the go-to platform for students aiming for the best careers. I work with focus, efficiency, and intensity—the same mindset required to break into the most competitive industries. If you want someone who will push boundaries and deliver real impact, I’m the right choice for UCL EFS President.

Through my experiences in both professional and extracurricular roles, I have cultivated a comprehensive understanding of what good leadership is, how to improve ongoing activities, and how to apply the technical skills into pragmatic progress. As an EFS Finance Executive, I did outreach to high-profile speakers and helped towards strengthening our connection with other communities, such as Career26.
Until now, I worked as an Advisory Intern at KPMG Romania, Head of Sales at Upgrade Education and will be a Sales & Trading Intern for Barclays this summer. These roles sharpened my analytical, client-facing, and strategic thinking abilities, which have also guided me in organising high-impact events and workshops. This October, I will also be the Lead Organiser of the UK Student Finance Summit - which would allow me to connect UCL EFS members with high-value speakers, other London and UK societies, and expand our society's impact.
By leveraging these professional experiences—along with the experience I had in the past year as an EFS member—I aim to secure more corporate collaborations that offer firsthand industry exposure, for example through interactive events at the companies' headquarters. My vision is to expand UCL EFS’s program so every member gains tangible insights into the finance world - through CV, interviews, ACs workshops. I strive to ensure that UCL EFS remains the best UCL society and the most appreciated one by all students eager to succeed in finance.
