Drag Society: Secretary

Hello, my name is Fin, and I’m currently a 1st year Archaeology student. I’ve been a part of DragSoc since I joined UCL this year, and it’s been a privilege to make friends and find my community at uni through it. Being able to give back and help the society continue operating next year as secretary is very personal to me as a result: I want to use my admin skills to keep DragSoc running smoothly, so that more people can have the experience I’ve had. An important part of archaeology is public engagement and outreach, things like working with people in local communities and making sure that word gets out about new discoveries. This experience ties in well with the role of secretary. Drag has been a fun way for me to get out of my shell, conquer some fears, and grow as a person, so I would love to use the skills public archaeology provides to the benefit of the society.
