As Vice President of Diplomacy Society, my goal is to support the team’s efficiency, organize career-based events, and emphasize future-building for our members. I will focus on:
• Creating an Internship Hub & Career Pathways Panel – Establishing a centralized resource for internships, organizing a Diplomacy Career Fair, and hosting a Pathways Panel where experts share insights on career trajectories and opportunities for students.
• Diversifying Events & Expanding International Collaborations – Increasing our reach by attending events at key institutions such as Chatham House and the House of Commons. Strengthening international collaborations to engage with students globally and foster meaningful connections abroad.
• Being the Backbone of the Society – Supporting all committee members in organizing events efficiently, ensuring seamless execution of major events like LUDS and the Diplomacy Ball, and managing key logistics such as guest lists. With my experience as Marketing Director and Panel Organizer for the Summit, I have the organizational skills necessary to optimize operations.
Having served on the committee, I am highly adaptable and can take on multiple roles—whether it’s organizing major events, as I did with the Turkish Embassy this year, or handling social media and outreach. With a strong passion for supporting both the team and our members, I am committed to ensuring the society runs smoothly and that students find valuable opportunities in the field of diplomacy.

Hey!
I am Cici, a second-year Politics & International Relations student, and I am excited to stand for Vice President — especially after a year as Head of Events!
Over the past year, I have gained deep insight into the society’s operations by successfully organising embassy visits, speaker events, and cultural activities. My experience — including internships in the electric vehicle and semiconductor industries, as well as two NGOs — has strengthened my ability to think across disciplines, manage responsibilities, and coordinate effectively to foster meaningful engagement.
Born and raised in China before continuing my education in the UK, I understand both Chinese and Western perspectives — an invaluable asset in today’s shifting global landscape between major global powers. At a time when diplomacy and dialogue are more important than ever, I believe my background will help the Diplomacy Society better reflect the diverse perspectives that shape global affairs.
As VP, I will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the society, maintaining clear communication between the committee and our members. Most importantly, I am committed to making society more inclusive and accessible — ensuring that students from all backgrounds, cultures and disciplines feel welcome and engaged in diplomacy.
This role requires dedication, and I am ready to bring my experience, perspective, and commitment to society. Together, we can take the Diplomacy Society forward. Thank you for your support!

I’m Juan Diego Chuquihuara Salas, and this year, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to serve as Head of Events. I’ve successfully led the organization of embassy visits (Mexico, Italy), ambassadorial talks, and high-profile discussions, actively driving the society’s growth. Now, I’m excited to take on a greater responsibility role as Vice-President.
If elected, here’s what I’ll bring to our society:
More engagement – I’ll organize even more embassy visits, political/diplomatic talks, and expert panels featuring global leaders.
Better professional opportunities – I’ll introduce mentorship programs, career talks, and practical skills workshops to support students interested in global affairs in their career efforts. Whether you’re looking for advice or networking opportunities, I’ll provide the right platform for you.
Stronger community ties – Expect more socials, cultural nights, and collaborations with other societies to create a vibrant and intellectually stimulating community.
A bigger network – Leveraging my established network of connections with UN diplomats, embassy representatives, and policymakers, I will bring exclusive opportunities, including organizing a society trip to visit the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, where you will attend talks by experienced UN officials and benefit from incredible networking opportunities!
With my experience, dedication, and vision, I’m committed to making the Diplomacy Society even more dynamic and impactful.
