Election post

Hey!
I am Cici, a second-year Politics & International Relations student, and I am excited to run for Head of Events again after a year in this role!
Over the past year, I’ve successfully organised embassy visits, speaker events, and cultural activities, gaining a strong understanding of what makes an engaging and well-run event. My internships in the electric vehicle and semiconductor industries, as well as with two respected NGOs, have strengthened my ability to think across disciplines, manage responsibilities, and coordinate effectively.
Having grown up in China before continuing my education in the UK, I understand both Chinese and Western perspectives—an invaluable asset in today’s shifting global landscape. As diplomacy and dialogue become more critical than ever, I want to organise events that reflect diverse global voices and evolving dynamics. With my past experience and knowledge of how to run this role effectively, I am confident I can build on what I’ve learned and make this year’s events even better.
As Head of Events, I will focus on keeping members informed and ensuring our events reflect their interests. Key topics I want to highlight include:
- Visits to embassies of African states, IOs, and NGOs
- US under Trump & US-China & US-Europe relations
- AI & Tech diplomacy in the 21st century
This role requires dedication, and I am ready to bring my experience, perspective, and commitment to society. Let’s take the Diplomacy Society forward together. Thank you for your support!
