Hi! I'm Winston.
I was the society's academic officer for the academic year 2024-2025. Dermatology and skin health has been a recent passion of mine which I want to share with the university student body. I hope that as president of the society, the team and I can expand the awareness of the field of skin health through events and talks.
Hi! My name is Faye, and I'm running to be your next DermSoc President. Having been on the committee for the past 3 years, I have watched our society flourish and have gained invaluable experience organising and assisting with events, creating educational content, and further developing my passion for dermatology. Additionally, my experience as President of the UCL Cheerleading Club has equipped me with strong leadership skills and the ability to organise large scale events, as well as strong knowledge of the administrative side of running a society and working with the Student's Union to ensure the best experience, opportunities and offerings for our members.
If elected, I am committed to further developing upon the amazing work that our committee has established. Using feedback from members, I will continue to run our regional teaching series in collaboration with other London DermSocs to target learning gaps in our curriculum, as well as the mock CPSA for year 2 students which was well received this year. I will continue to raise awareness and improve our fundraising efforts for the British Skin Foundation (BSF) through the annual Battle of the Dermsocs.
I am also dedicated to hosting our third ever Skin Synergy Conference in collaboration with other London DermSocs, providing delegates with a variety of opportunities ranging from interactive workshops, networking with dermatologists, and of course skincare goodies! I'm excited for DermSoc to achieve even more next year!

My passion for dermatology began at 11 when I struggled with facial and body acne, leading me to delve deep into skincare. From experimenting with St. Ives scrub and lemon juice to exploring Korean skincare and maintaining a healthy diet, my journey with my skin has been long and crazy! But this journey is what led me to gain interest in skin and hair health.
As a pharmacy student, I believe I can inspire both medical and non-medical students to develop an interest in dermatology and feel welcome in the society. This also means being involved in catering events that would attract a broad audience. It’s a field that transcends numerous professions and therefore involves collaboration with healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds and different perspectives. My goal is to show that dermatology is for everyone, regardless of whether you do medicine or not.
As someone who has suffered with numerous skin conditions over the past decade, one of the key reasons I chose pharmacy is to help patients with skin conditions who suffer with emotional tolls due to their conditions just like I did. I dream of formulating skincare products with organic ingredients to not only improve people’s appearances but also help them regain self-esteem and confidence. For his reason, I believe I have the right empathy for other students to be inspired by and learn to have in the future when dealing with patients.
