Dermatology Society: Academic Officer

Dermatology is one of the most exciting fields in medicine, but access to structured academic guidance, research opportunities, and high-quality teaching can sometimes feel limited. As Academic Officer, I want to change that—making learning about dermatology clearer, more engaging, and accessible.

Having helped organise the Skinclusive teaching series and annual conference, I’ve worked to expand dermatology education and inclusivity on a large scale. As Founder & President of WinSSA, I’ve planned multiple national conferences and academic initiatives, ensuring students have the resources to succeed in competitive specialties. I know what it takes to create engaging, high-impact teaching—and I’m excited to apply that experience to DermSoc!

My key focus areas: 

📚 I want to develop a clear academic guide, covering high-yield dermatology topics, recommended resources, OSCE revision, and advice on specialty training applications.

🔬 Getting started with dermatology research can be daunting. I aim to create research and audit guidance workshops, while also building connections with dermatologists to help students find mentors and projects to get involved in.

🩺 Through interactive teaching sessions, I’ll ensure DermSoc provides case-based learning, OSCE practice, and lectures tailored to exams and clinical practice.

Education is the foundation of a strong dermatology career, and I want to ensure that DermSoc is the go-to space for learning, research, and career development!
