Hi, I’m Esther, and I’m running to your next Convenor!

Running great competitions is essential—it’s how we fund the society, build our reputation, create fun debate spaces, and give novices a shot at competing on home turf. I know how much precision it takes to get every moving part working smoothly, and I’m ready to take on the challenge. I believe I have the strong organisational track record and collaborative communication skills needed to run successful competitions. 

Here’s why you should vote for me:

  1. Strong organisational experience – I’ve run national trials, coordinated workshops, and handled logistics for large-scale debate events.
  2. Extensive debate contacts – I have connections with UCL alumni and debaters across the UK (KCL, Imperial, LSE, and beyond), making it easier to secure CAs, IAs, and top judges.
  3. Competition experience – I’ve attended many tournaments, so I know what makes a comp run well—and what doesn’t. From getting CAs, IAs, and judges to handling sign-ups and finances, I have the skills to make our competitions a success.
