Dance isn't just a passion for me - it's a way to connect, express, and build a vibrant community. I'm stepping up for Vice President because I believe I can bring fresh energy and organizational skills to elevate our society. First off, the costume cupboard needs some love. I'll set up a streamlined system for lending, making it easy for everyone to access what they need. Collaboration is key, and I'm all about open communication. Working closely with the president, I'll ensure we're on top of societal affairs, making decisions that reflect all our voices. I plan to infuse the 24-hour show with fresh ideas—maybe incorporating multimedia elements or teaming up with other societies (cultural societies?) to add world-connectivity and new flair. Helping new committee members settle in is crucial. I'll set up a mentorship system where seasoned members guide newcomers, making sure they feel welcomed and up to speed in no time. It can be intimidating to join a new society, so let's take the pain out and make it as open as possible. I envision hosting open forums for feedback every half term so everyone's ideas and concerns are heard. Dance Soc could also host a boat party in collaboration with other London unis, for a chance to celebrate with a fun night out. I'm ready to think outside the box, tackle problems head-on, and make our society a place where creativity thrives. Thank you for considering me for Vice President. Let's step together and make 2026 our best year yet!

Hi team, I'm Pola and am running for VP (which stands for Vote Pola)! One of this year's Freshers' Reps, I have loved being part of the committee. DanceSoc is truly one of the busiest societies - the calendar is filled with fun stuff! This year I have choreographed for Fresher's Show and Blooms, produced Triple Bill, danced on the competition team and even taken over the instagram for a day (highlight!). These experiences gave me a glimpse into the workings of almost each committee role!
VP is a special role because it requires versatility in being able to help anyone on committee with projects or difficulties. My involvement this year means that I have a wide range of experience and feel comfortable being someone that committee members can reach out to for advice, guidance, or even just for me to listen to their thoughts. This role comes with knowing when to step in, but also when to step back. I can't wait to work with the talented committee and President to keep this beautiful society running!
I love the collaborative nature that underscores this society: from producing shows to rolling out mats! This cooperative culture is something that I want to further foster next year. I am super excited about the freedom that this role has to offer and am particularly interested in integrating dancesoc within the London dance scene. I would love to oversee trips to attend shows, host guest choreographers or attend workshops!
So don't forget to TAP IN and Vote Pola (VP) 😝👞🕺
