Election post

Throughout school, I kept my passion for dance to myself, afraid to perform in front of my friends and family. Over time, dance helped me overcome my lack of confidence, breaking me out of my shell and reassuring me that my artistic visions are valuable no matter how much I doubt them. This position would allow me to support choreographers who feel the same way I did, guiding them in translating their ideas into pieces they are proud to showcase.
Devoting 10 years to competitive dance at international and national level, I understand the dedication required to drive choreography toward a goal. Competing with UCL, dancing in Freshers Show and Blooms and choreographing for Triple Bill, I am familiar with the creative process required for large-scale performances—managing dancers’ needs, fostering team spirit, and uniting diverse ideas. Having faced the pressure of choreographing under tight deadlines, I am more than ready to be an active listener and address concerns.
My training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, acro, tap, commercial, and Latin dance allows me to adapt to various choreographic styles, producing finales suited to a range of genres and providing constructive feedback. Having co-choreographed a production, competition items, and taught syllabus-based classes, I am used to collaborating, taking leadership, and sharing ideas respectfully. Being involved in dance society this year, I feel deeply connected to our community and am excited to contribute however I can!
