Cyber Security Society: Head of Operations

Hey there, I’m Varshah, a 3rd year Math Comp student, and I’m running for Head of Operations!

Cyber security has fascinated me ever since I worked on a secure file-sharing project in a hackathon. That experience introduced me to how crucial security is in tech, and being part of a community that shares that passion is something I really value.

The Cyber Security Society has hosted incredible events, from hackathons and workshops to talks by industry experts, and I want to help make them even more impactful, engaging, and accessible. My experience in leading societies has equipped me with the skills to organize events, secure sponsorships, and manage society funds. As a former society president, I handled event logistics, industry outreach, and financial planning, all of which I’ll bring to this role.

If elected, I will focus on:
1) Seamless Event Management – Ensuring our hackathons, workshops, and speaker sessions are well-organized and engaging
2) Marketing & Outreach – Boosting event visibility and engagement through Instagram, WhatsApp, and creative digital campaigns
3) Optimized Internal Processes – Improving communication, workflows, and documentation to keep things running smoothly
4) Building an Inclusive Space – Preserving the friendly atmosphere the society is known for while making it even more welcoming and interactive
