James Loke

Hi everyone! My name is James, and I’m a first-year Computer Science student. As a quick introduction, my least favorite programming language is Haskell, and my go-to Nando’s order is a medium quarter chicken with fries.

I’m running for Head of Sales because I want to contribute to the financial aspect of the Computer Science Society. I believe this society exists for students, which is why my main goal as Head of Sales will be to lower the cost of paid events and tickets, or whenever possible, make them completely free.

I believe my collaborative nature makes me suited for this position. I will work closely with the Treasurer and Head of Sponsorship to keep prices as low as possible while ensuring our financial balances remain stable. Additionally, I will also help find new revenue streams for the society, particularly by supporting sponsorship outreach efforts.

Beyond this,  I will focus on expanding and improving Computer Science Society merchandise by

  1. Introducing new items such as caps and tote bags

  2. Incorporating UCL Computer Science-specific designs, such as merchandise inspired by the C maze coursework

  3. Improving publicity efforts to increase awareness

  4. Ensuring merchandise is available for purchase multiple times throughout the year at affordable prices

I’d love to have your support and your vote! I’m truly excited for this opportunity if I am voted in.

Kareem Bzai

Dear Members of the Computer Science Society,

I am thrilled to stand for nomination as your next Head of Sales. My ambition is to leverage my passion for technology and sales to help our society flourish through stronger partnerships, better funding, and meaningful industry connections.

I am positive that my abilities in negotiation, communication, and relationship management will allow me to engage effectively with sponsors, companies, and alumni who share our enthusiasm for innovation. By aligning our society’s initiatives with the objectives of potential partners, I will work tirelessly to secure funding, resources, and sponsorships that support diverse workshops, hackathons, and networking events.

If elected, I plan to:

 • Establish deeper ties with tech companies and startups to create long-term sponsorships and internship opportunities.
• Generate sustainable revenue streams via merchandise sales, branded events, and strategic partnerships.

My vision is to not only enhance the financial wellbeing of our society but also to elevate the overall experience for all members. I firmly believe our collective drive can propel our society to new heights.

I respectfully ask for your support in this election. Let us collaborate to make our Computer Science Society a premier platform where students thrive, sponsors are engaged, and innovative ideas take flight.

Thank you for your consideration.
