Classics Society: Vice-President

My name is Ella Bosworth-Gerbino and I’m a third year studying French and Latin. I’m running for Vice President of the Classics Society because I really enjoy being part of the committee, and think it is important to connect students with the department. I have successfully managed the Instagram account as the Social Media Secretary this year, despite being on my year abroad, and think that I could bring the same commitment to the role of Vice Pres (actually from London this time). I have really valued the events I’ve attended and the people I’ve met in the society over the last few years, and I have a lot of ideas for the next year. In particular, I think we could do more outreach with students. This year we fundraised a bursary for a local GCSE student to attend a Latin summer school, and in the future I think we could possibly extend the society's own members as part of a mentoring programme or something similar for work experience or careers events.
