Chinese Students and Scholars Association Society: Head of Careers

Dear friends, I’m Yiran Liu, a proud UCL student running for Head of Careers in the CSSA.

Standing here today, I’m not just a candidate but one of you, a student who dreams big and believes in the power of the campus community. With a deep understanding of the dreams and challenges of Chinese students on campus, I believe we all deserve a place where we feel supported and empowered, and by which we can spark real change.

Here comes my vision and plan to make the changes happen:
1. Founding Empowerment Platform: Let’s ignite fresh ideas with the Future Vision Student Forum and Digital Natives’ Skills Workshops. We’ll explore AI, the metaverse, and digital media together.
2. Strengthening Real-World Connections: I’ll team up with UCL’s Innovation Incubator and local partners to open doors to mentorship, funding, and a Venture Capital Simulation Challenge.
3. Launching Global Youth Summit: We’ll join forces with leading universities to tackle big issues like climate change and digital ethics.
4. Strengthening Alumni Ties: I want to build mentorships and host open days with industry giants.
5. Enhancing Union Services: I promise to boost our media presence and ensure your voice drives our actions.
6. Teaming Up Collaboration: Together, we will build a united, creative, and resourceful community.
