Cheese and Wine Society: President

Hey guys! My name is Tristan de L'Hermite, I’m a first-year Arts and Sciences student, and I’d love to be your next President of the Cheese and Wine Society. Being French and German with an Italian background, cheese and wine are in my blood—I’ve grown up appreciating their traditions and love sharing that passion with others. Whether it’s a bold Roquefort with a sweet Sauternes or a creamy Burrata with a crisp Vermentino, I believe cheese and wine bring people together, and that’s exactly what I want to do as President.

I have experience in leadership roles, having been actively involved in my high school’s Debate Club and in the American piano conservatory. Through the skills I honed, I’ll be able to represent your interests in Student Union meetings to ensure we get the best opportunities and funding, while also expanding our society’s reach. If elected, I’ll equally work closely with the committee to make our events more regular, diverse, and engaging. I notably plan on collaborating with language societies; like the French or Italian ones, to explore the flavours of different regions, all while meeting new people.

I’d also love to bring in guest speakers like cheesemongers, sommeliers, and winemakers and organise trips to local vineyards and artisan cheesemakers. Above all, I want this society to be a welcoming, fun, and unforgettable part of your university experience.
