Cheerleading Club: Treasurer

Hey everyone! I’m Yi Wen, and I’m so excited to be running for Treasurer of our cheer society!  I never planned to join cheer 🐡, but I’m so happy I did. I’ve met the most AMAZING, CAPABLE, and SWEET humans in UCL LIGHTNING 🫶🥺. I felt welcomed from the start, and have fallen in love 💗 with cheer!

As Treasurer 🤯, I’ll ensure our funds are managed efficiently and transparently, so we can focus on what really matters:

My Role & Experience

💰 Keeping membership fees fair & accessible
💸 Ensuring competition fees, venue bookings & coaching costs are paid on time
📊 Assisting the president with emails, logistics & finances

I was President & Treasurer of my high school’s Science Society, managing a team of 48 students. This gave me leadership, organisation & decision-making skills, plus the ability to tackle unexpected challenges. Also, I’m NICE 🤐 (hopefully) and approachable 🙊, making sure all members feel valued & supported!

My Goals for Next Year!

✨ More non-alcoholic events (day trips, karaoke, picnics)
✨ Better & more convenient venues
✨ Investing in equipment & support (mats, physios, etc.)
✨ BUCS funding to expand what we can do!
✨ Fun & creative fundraising events
✨ Team bonding activities to strengthen our CHEER FAMILY

Hi everyone, I’m Talia and I’m running for Treasurer! This year being on Spark sparked my love for cheerleading and I want to give back to this amazing society by taking on this important role.

In high school I was part of the student body and co-founded a student-led project “forthebettersg”. In both of these roles I managed budgets, calculated costs for products (like school hoodies and donation t-shirts) and ensured payments from over a hundred of students were on time. I also submitted financial forms to the school board and organisations like the Red Cross which taught me the importance of attention to details and meeting specific formatting requirements. I’ll use this knowledge to ensure our funds are allocated effectively for trainings, competition entries, etc, while keeping everything on track and debt-free.

Beyond finances, my roles on the School Committee and MUN Club Committee honed my communication and collaboration skills. Organising multi-school conferences and leading hundreds of students during these conferences has taught me how to effectively work as a team and manage large-scale projects - skills that will help me collaborate with the committee and skillfully help our President organise events.

I know being Treasurer comes with a lot of responsibility, but I’m ready to take it on. If elected, I’ll ensure our finances are managed smoothly so that we can focus on what matters - cheerleading! Vote for me and I promise we will HIT ZERO debts ;)
