Jadwiga Konopka-Lasok

Hello, my name is Jadwiga, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to apply for president of UCL Catholic Society.

As a committed Catholic, I have always felt a deep devotion to my faith, something that has only grown since joining the society. CathSoc has become a central part of my university life through its numerous opportunities for spiritual growth, whether it be through talks, group prayer, trips, or even simply meeting other like-minded students with common values.

I have been able to deepen and connect to my own faith as I navigate university life which can, at times, become so all-consuming. The community I have discovered here has been a familiar and unwavering anchor in the fast-paced flow of university life, offering a focus and a reminder of what truly matters. This is why I am so keen to give back and contribute to this society's mission of unity and inspiration.

Through my role as Head Girl in Sixth Form I was able to develop my communication and organisational skills, using them to be an effective advocate and representative. Using this experience, I would endeavour to represent society members as well as ensuring the values of our community are shared more widely across the university.

My hope is that I would be able to guide UCL CathSoc to continue its meaningful work in supporting Catholics throughout UCL and also providing a welcoming environment for those who wish to discover or develop their faith.

Thank you for considering me for this role.
