Cancer Charities Alliance Society: Medical Officer

To quickly introduce myself, hi I'm Laura, I'm a second-year student studying Bioprocessing of New Medicines at UCL. Joining this society has allowed me to continue my active contribution in a cause I have always part-taken with, and this position within this society would allow me to contribute to a greater extent by being a key touchpoint between the CCA and UCL Medical School. Prior to joining UCL, I have partaken in various fundraising galas seeking to raise funds for cancer research, while also having organised countless awareness and interactive educational workshops within my high school. With my experience in leadership, collaborative work with professionals, and subsequent events-planning, I hope to bring the same energy and dedication to this society! If elected, my goals are simple: proactively promote cancer awareness and help students interact with professionals for educational, professional, and networking purposes. I think that we can all agree on the barriers students face when seeking to gain insight into such a medical expertise, which is why this position would allow me to help us all acquire knowledge beyond theoretical frame-works, and hear from those who have experienced it first-hand.
