To whom this may concern

I hope that this message finds you well.

As a second-year Cancer Biomedicine undergraduate truly passionate about raising awareness of cancer, I am very eager to engage with policy groups and spread awareness about the early diagnosis of cancer, as well as improving treatment options for cancer patients.

Having volunteered at the VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer, I understand the need for early diagnosis and improved treatment for patients with cancers. I particularly feel that more focus needs to be on rarer cancer types such as Ewing's Sarcoma. I have a proven track record, connecting with the community since my early teens. As Community Service Director of Interact Club in junior college, I have spearheaded volunteering programmes and engaged with elderly and youths to drive change. As a Transition Mentor in 2024,  I have honed the skills of connecting with students and amplify voices that need to be heard. I intend to collaborate with Cancer Research UK and Macmillan Cancer Support to promote the importance of evidence-based, patient-centred policy-making.

I am excited to bring ideas to the table on how to engage with the UCL student body (and even beyond) to promote the effectiveness of such campaigns, and look forward to working with like-minded individuals to fight cancer!
