Hi, I’m Dylan and I’m excited to be running for Treasurer!

RUMSBC has been a huge part of first two years and I’m eager to continue giving back to this incredible club by ensuring its financial and long-term success.

Being on committee has given me invaluable insight into the behind-the-scenes work and financial management that keeps the club running. Additionally, my experience in committee positions for Surgical Society, has equipped me with skills in budgeting, meeting deadlines, negotiating, and building strong relationships with the union. These experiences have honed my ability to communicate effectively, problem solve and stay highly organised – key qualities for a Treasurer.

Thanks to the hard work of Kira, Lewis and the committee we are in strong position, one I look forward to building on. My time as Media & Comms Officer has demonstrated my dedication, creativity and organisation – qualities I will bring to help RUMSBC thrive.

If elected my main goals would be:

  • Work closely with President to deliver another successful year for RUMSBC
  • Provide support & resources to each committee member to help maximise their impact
  • Explore sponsorship and grant opportunities
  • Identify new revenue streams e.g. indoor rowing competition
  • Continue fostering our good relationship with the union and other clubs
  • Take on feedback and adapt to ensure the club’s continued improvement

I’d be honoured to take on this responsibility and continue the club's success. Thank you, and I’d love your support!

Max Ybema

As a second-year Chemical Engineering student, I’ve developed a strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, particularly through advanced mathematical modeling and economic analysis in my course. These skills allow me to handle complex calculations, optimize budgets, and ensure efficient financial planning making me well-suited for the role of Treasurer.

I’m running for Treasurer because I want to ensure RUMSBC has the financial stability to grow, thrive, and provide the best possible experience for all members old and new. Being part of RUMSBC has been an incredible experience, and I want to give back by ensuring our club’s finances are managed effectively. I will work to secure funding and make sure every penny is used to maximize opportunities for the club—whether that’s better equipment, better socials or race entries.

With my attention to detail, numerical skills, and commitment to the club, I believe I can be a responsible and proactive Treasurer. Vote for me, and let’s make this a fantastic year for RUMSBC!
