Hey everyone, I’m Avanish and I’m running for social sec (again!)
After spending far too much time at RUMSBC socials over the past few years, I can confidently say they have been some of my best uni memories. I want to keep that tradition alive by making sure every member, from freshers to seniors, gets to experience the absolute madness and occasional wholesomeness that makes this club so special.
Fresher integration is still one of my biggest priorities. I know how intimidating it can be at first, so I want to organise events that are fun and welcoming without any pressure. With the help of the novice captains, I hope to create the same sense of community that made me feel at home in this club from day one.
Beyond that, I am committed to making sure our socials stay varied and inclusive, so there is always something for everyone. Whether it is a classic sports night, a more chilled event or a big night out, I will make sure no one is left out of the fun.
Finally, having attended almost every social and survived more circles than I can count, I would like to think I know what makes a good one. I am more than ready to run circle, help organise legendary nights out and, most importantly, deliver a tour that brings the perfect blend of chaos and good times.
Strengths
- Headers
- Look like Vikkstar
Weaknesses
- Trains
- The Grand Old Duke of York

Hey guys, ever since my first RUMSBC social, I’ve been committed to downing pints and catching live ones (sorry not sorry to everyone I’ve caught out) every Wednesday after going AWOL from rums rugby. I couldn’t imagine my uni experience without my weekly magical train journey from the boat house to… erm… the Huntley.
As you can see, I clearly know the rules very well, but I’d also like to highlight why I think I’d be well suited to this role:
- Time management - I have been a committed member of both RUMSBC and MDs this year, while also balancing RUMS committee. Social sec is a time consuming role I know I could keep up with
- Budgeting - from helping to organise Sports Ball and dealing with the retro fleece order, I’ve shown that I’m not only fiscally sensible but also proactive in communicating with suppliers to get the best for our money - something imperitive in organising tour, FDATR, and other events
- Sub-7 pint time
- Can shout (cox training, ty Mathura x)
- Hopefully somewhat funny
TL;DR: I want to take on this role because I love making people laugh and smile whilst also ensuring everyone feels included and has as good a time as I have had these past two years. xx

Hey Divas, I'm Rohini, better known as Rohizzle, and I would love to be your social sec next year :)
RUMSBC takes up a concerning proportion of my uni life: I was sold from Freshers Pub Crawl where Lewis told me I swear just like my sister (long live legacy fresh) and Freshers Sportsnight where Ella was more drunk than I was. Learning to cox this year has given me a newfound love of shouting at you all, and I'd love to continue that not in a boat. I'm feisty and am not afraid to put you all in banishment circle when you get too yappy x
More importantly, I'd love to promote a welcoming, inclusive environment, with a big drive for attendance at non-drinking socials, and consider the wellbeing of our club members. We all love a packed social calendar, but things can get intense, and I want to ensure that everyone enjoys the social side of RUMSBC and feels that there is an event planned for them.
I'm a friendly face to the novices, perhaps too friendly considering they all said they want to kiss me at sportsnight? and hope to continue this relationship when encouraging the new cohort of freshers to join RUMSBC. I'm so grateful for this club and would love to continue providing chaotic socials for my favourite people x
now here's the funny bit

voice of an angel and not afraid to use it
already have a banging tour theme idea
cons:
