Rayan Ghavam

Hello, my name is Rayan!

My decision to stand for the role of Treasurer of the Biotechnology society comes from both a love for biotechnology and our society. I believe that I would manage our society's finances very sustainably and with transparency. I would work very closely with our committee to ensure we accurately monitor and record our finances, and have a good and balanced budget that we can use to organise a wide range of events and opportunities.

As a medical student, I understand the importance of biotechnology. From constructing biopharmaceutical drugs that save lives to gene modification, biotechnology has truly transformed the very foundations of medicine. Yet, biotechnology extends far beyond this—shaping the likes of agriculture, forensics, industry, and even space exploration!

I have enjoyed my first year in this society, and I am confident that my vision for how we can shape the financial atmosphere of the society will make it even better.

Thank you for considering me for this role.  :)

Edwin Chan

With a strong passion for biotechnology and a keen eye for financial management, I am committed to ensuring transparency, efficiency, and responsible budgeting for our society.
