Biopharmaceutical Society: President

Hi everyone! I’m Haonan, a second-year Genetics student and your current Treasurer :D

Apart from calculating finances and securing grant funding for our society this year, I’ve attended and supported the committee in planning various speakers and social events. I’d love to take on a larger leadership role to provide a wider range of activities for our members next year!

I am confident in my ability to lead GenSoc as President because I have served as President of Kinesis Magazine this year. I led a 15-person committee, managing all operations (articles, design, events, podcasts), increased article submissions by 195% in one term, and produced two 50+ page issues with student-made illustrations. I also served as Events Officer in Genetics Soc and planned multiple social events and academic talks. These experiences demonstrate my leadership, responsibility, and strong familiarity with SU admin - allowing me to dive straight into planning and delivering activities without a lengthy transition period.

After I am elected, I will:

• Ensure speaker talks, panels, and conferences featuring industry experts from biopharma / biotech / consulting companies
• Increase collaborations with other biosciences societies
• Organize an internship panel / membership program
• Set up an anonymous feedback form to get all members' ideas heard
