Hey everyone!
I’m Pedro, a Biochemistry student and your First-Year Rep, and I’m running to be your next Events Officer!
This year, I’ve been working on bringing top pharmaceutical companies like Roche and hopefully Vertex to UCL, creating events that help students like us get real insights into the industry, from landing internships to kickstarting careers. I want to take this even further. More networking events, more career talks, and more opportunities for you to connect with the biggest names in biopharma.
I love bringing people together and making sure everyone feels included. I want to make the society a space where students can connect, learn, and get inspired by industry leaders, whether you’re exploring career options or just curious about biotech and pharma.
If you’re looking for someone who’s proactive, approachable, and ready to make things happen, vote for me! Let’s take Biopharma's events to the next level!
Pedro Gil.
I am passionate about creating impactful events that inspire and empower our members. I am committed to fostering an engaging environment where like-minded individuals can connect, exchange ideas, and gain practical insights into the biopharmaceutical field.
My vision for the role is to organise a diverse range of events that focus on cutting-edge research and provide valuable career guidance and networking opportunities. This includes guest speaker sharing sessions, CV workshops and networking mixers to build lasting professional connections. I also hope to collaborate with other societies and external partners to expand our outreach and bring in unique perspectives from related fields.
I believe that building a vibrant community requires both strategic planning and effective communication. I enjoy connecting with people and building networks, which motivates me to create events that resonate with our members and leave a lasting impact. Additionally, my experience as leader of the Public Relations Division in my high school club has developed my coordination skills to ensure smooth event execution.
As a Biomedical Sciences student at UCL, I have a solid academic foundation and a genuine curiosity about the latest industry trends. I am confident that I can bring both passion and practicality to this role. I am eager to organise events that exceed our members' expectations and contribute to the continued growth of the Biopharmaceutical Society.
