Cameron Chung

Hi everyone!

My name is Cameron Chung, and I am a 2nd Year Biomedical Sciences student, committed to making this society welcoming and engaging for all, whether you are seeking academic opportunities, social events, or career support. With strong leadership and passion, I will ensure that every student feels included, valued, and respected.

As your President, I will expand the society to engage all students, not just those on this course. I will introduce networking events, guest speakers, and career panels for the academically driven, while organising social events and collaborations with other societies for those looking to meet new people. To support first-year students, I will establish mentorship schemes and study groups if requested. I will also work on introducing society merch, such as hoodies, to strengthen our sense of community. Most importantly, I will be highly proactive, routinely seeking member input to ensure everyone's opinions are heard and that our initiatives reflect the needs of the society

My leadership experience includes being a Transition Mentor last term, supporting first-year students settle into university life. I also served as a Police Officer in Singapore for two years, where I developed leadership, management, and decision-making skills. Additionally, as captain of my high school swim team, I learned to motivate and unite people toward a shared goal. Together, these have shaped me into a leader who values integrity, accountability, and respect.

Khadija Ajmal

I am eager to apply for the role of President of the Biomedical Sciences Society, driven by my passion for representing our community and playing an active role in its growth. My goal is to create an inclusive, engaging and dynamic environment where every student can explore their interests, develop key skills, and connect with like-minded peers.

Serving as a student prefect & fundraiser leader has strengthened my ability to delegate tasks, manage events, and represent a wider community, equipping me with the organisational and leadership skills needed to lead a society effectively. My experience on the student council has further motivated me to be a spokesperson for students, ensuring every voice is heard—something I aim to bring to this role through polls, feedback forms, and open discussions.

I believe a thriving and impactful society is built on inclusivity, where every member feels valued and involved. Volunteering in a nursing home has allowed me to become a strong team player, ready to support & uplift others. As President, I will actively seek members' and the Union’s input to shape events, from budget planning with the Treasurer to organizing insightful speaker sessions, end of year ball's and exciting collaborations with other societies. Your ideas will drive our society forward!

I would love the opportunity to bring my leadership, enthusiasm, and vision to the Biomedical Sciences Society as your next President. Count on me– for a Stronger, Smarter Society!
