Bhangra has been such a huge part of my first year at UCL, and being part of committee means I'll be able to give back so much to the society which is now like family to me.
As vice president, my goal would be to support the president and the rest of the committee. I believe dance connects people in a more unique and deeper way than any other hobby. Whether it be conducting more open sessions, bringing in experienced Bhangra dancers for workshops, I want to help make UCL Bhangra a society for everyone.
I've been the head of a team while working with an NGO in India, and have planned many events for the organisation. I've also been a part of many team competitions, notably a classical dance competition in which I was part of the team that represented my school at the National level. Participating in Rangeela also helped improve my team-spirit, I was also voted most dedicated member by my team!
I may only have a year of experience with Bhangra, but I strongly resonate with the society and would like to give the next set of members the same experience, if not better, I've had.
Thank you!

I am Anhar and I am honored to be running for the position of Vice President of the UCL Bhangra Society. With a deep-rooted passion for Bhangra, a commitment to giving back to community, and a drive for excellence, I am excited to take our society to new heights. Together, let's celebrate the swaad, and culture of Bhangra while making sure that every member feels valued, heard, and part of something truly special.
My vision for the Bhangra Society is to create an inclusive, engaging, and dynamic environment where every individual can experience the joy of Bhangra. I aim to enhance the society's reputation by increasing participation, supporting our team, and spreading the love for Bhangra to all corners of our university and beyond.
Let’s come together and make our Bhangra Society a place where we learn, grow, and celebrate. Vote for me as Vice President, and together, we will dance, perform, and honor the rich traditions of Bhangra.

I’m running for Vice President because Bhangra has been a big part of my uni experience, and in my final year, I want to take on more responsibility and give back to the society. I’ve really enjoyed being part of this community, from the practices to the events, and I want to help make next year even better. Whether that’s organising competitions, bringing in new members, or just making sure everything runs smoothly, I’m ready to step up and put in the work. Rangeela 2025 was one of the best experiences of my life and I want to help other people experience that in the coming year!

Hi, I am Nikita and I would love to be your next UCL Bhangra Vice President!
The first reason I think I will be a good fit for the role is because I have grown such a passion for bhangra. I have danced since I was tiny but I can honestly say bhangra has been my favourite style by far. When i was going through things personally at the start of the year bhangra was one of the only things that would cheer me up every time guaranteed. I would love to be part of the reason that when new dancers join us next year, they feel uplifted and grow to share that same spark for bhangra which our whole society shares. I want to create a positive space where anyone is welcome and everyone is encouraged.
I also have experience choreographing and teaching dance to class sizes of over 30 individuals which I did weekly for over a year. This means I have been trained in teaching choreography making me confident in that aspect. This job also included motivating students, setting formations, building a team, preparing for shows and just generally having a vision for a dance in my head and executing it seamlessly.
I am not blind to the fact this is going to be a lot of work. My choice to apply ultimately came down to the fact that the thought of learning new bhangra moves, learning more about bhangra and being committed to this role isn’t just something I am willing to do but is something I really want to do. This is a challenge I would love to take on and I promise to put my all into.
