Hi, I’m Miranda - a first year undergrad, and I’m thrilled to be running for Head of Events at Bentham Brooks Institute (BBI). As someone who has already had the privilege of serving as a project lead within the society, I’ve gained valuable insight into the inner workings of BBI, its mission, and the potential it holds as UCL’s first think tank. This experience, combined with my passion for public policy and event management, has motivated me to step forward and take on this leadership role.

My vision for the upcoming academic year is to host academic talks and discussions that highlight the importance of public policy analysis and its real-world impact. Policy is not just about theory - it impacts the decisions that shape our lives. By hosting thought-provoking events and collaborating with experts in the field, we could bring attention to the relevance of policy in real life application and make these topics more accessible and engaging for the community. Additionally, I’m committed to increasing the visibility and reach of BBI. I believe that BBI’s work deserves more recognition, and I plan to showcase the dedication and hard work of our members. I have had experience in coordinating various initiatives in other societies and roles such as student representative, which gives me the ability to organise events effectively and ensure that each event aligns with our society’s goals.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to earn your support and am honoured to have your vote!
