I am pleased to nominate myself for the position of Welfare Officer for UCL Baking Society. My love for baking extends further than creating delicious, sweet treats—for me, it’s also about forming lasting connections and fostering creativity and innovation, and hopefully, through this role, I can promote a safe space for all who share the same passion.

As Welfare Officer, I hope to encourage and support the promotion of psychological and physical wellbeing among our society members. I hope to work with the rest of the leadership team to organise events with a focus on wellbeing and spreading awareness about the importance of wellbeing. I also hope to be a supportive member dedicated to ensuring members of the society feel welcome and included.

I have previously worked in retail and educational environments, which have required me to have strong organisational and interpersonal skills. In a previous role as a primary school teaching assistant, I had the amazing opportunity of running a Cooking and Baking after-school club where I could utilise my skillset and encourage children to enjoy and partake in baking. I am also currently a Master’s student studying a psychology-based role, which requires empathetic and compassionate thinking and teamwork skills.

I believe the combination of the experience with my passion for baking and wellbeing makes me a fantastic candidate for Welfare Officer. I am eager about the opportunity and am dedicated to the growth of this society. Thank you.
