As an Anthropology student, I’m passionate about fostering community and celebrating our African and Caribbean identities. I want to ensure the inner-workings of ACS run smoothly and remain organised so that you all feel heard, supported and engaged.
Why Me?
- Strong Organisation: Managing tasks in customer service and coordinating events as a Youth Leader has sharpened my ability to prioritise, stay efficient under pressure and ensure things run seamlessly with a positive attitude.
- Community Support & Empathy: ACS is about more than just events—it’s about making sure everyone feels valued. I’m committed to offering support where it’s needed, from committee members to freshers, to maintain the strength of our community.
- Clear Communication: Effective communication is key to being a great Secretary. Through experience of event planning as an Arts Ambassador, I understand the importance of clear and timely correspondence.
- ACS Newsletters & Engagement: I’m excited to continue the ACS newsletters, ensuring they remain engaging and inform you of all the exciting events we have in store.
- Active Contribution to ACS’s Growth: Beyond admin, I want to be involved in shaping the society’s direction, ensuring it stays dynamic, inclusive and representative of all members.
I’d be honoured to be your ACS Secretary for 2025-26, ensuring our society remains a space to educate, empower, entertain and engage. Thank you for your support—I can't wait to help shape the future of ACS with you!

I am applying for the role of Secretary of the ACS because I want to ensure the society operates efficiently, making it easier for members to engage and benefit from everything ACS offers. I am committed about fostering a strong, well-connected community and believe that effective organisation and communication are key to achieving this.
As Secretary, I will take responsibility for maintaining structure within the society, ensuring smooth communication within the committee, and keeping members well-informed. Additionally, I want to introduce monthly newsletters or social media updates to keep members engaged with upcoming events, networking opportunities, and key discussions. This will help create a more interactive and informed community.
My experience as a Senior Equity Prefect and Student Ambassador has equipped me with strong organisational and communication skills. In these roles, I managed schedules and liaised with different teams which are skills that align directly with the responsibilities of Secretary. Furthermore, as a first year Pharmacy student, I understand the importance of time management and attention to detail, which will allow me to balance my responsibilities efficiently.
I am committed to making ACS an inclusive, engaging, and well-structured society. By ensuring clear communication and organisation, I will help ACS continue to thrive and provide a platform for students to connect, grow, and celebrate African and Caribbean culture.
