Hey everyone, I’m Todah, a first-year Geo student, and I’m running for Events Officer this year!
ACS has played a huge role in shaping my first year—I’ve built lasting friendships, found cultural connections, and celebrated my heritage. Now, I want to give back by creating events that truly bring us together.
I have experience in event planning, from organising my sixth-form prom to hosting a charity football tournament as Head Boy. I am also a producer/DJ so I know how to set the vibe for big events. I know how to plan engaging, well-executed events, as I’ve seen what works (and what doesn’t). Next year, we’re changing the game COMPLETELY.
I’ve been deeply involved in ACS—attending socials, helping at Panafrik, and engaging in programs. These experiences have shown me how great events build connections, but also where we can improve. A lot of us want that Midlands experience—who said London can’t better it? Trust me, we’ll go CLEAR!
As Events Officer, I’ll make ACS events more engaging, inclusive, and fun. I’m committed to listening to our community and ensuring events reflect our diverse interests.
Here’s what I’m passionate about:
- More inter-ACS collaborations to connect with other societies in London (and beyond!).
- Events that cater to everyone—cultural celebrations, socials, and platforms to showcase talent.
The ideas I have will elevate ACS, especially for freshers who shape its future. If you want impactful events that will bring people together, vote Todah for Events Officer!

Hey, I'm Aya and I'm a first year Politics and IR student and I am half-Sudanese and half-Eritrean; I'm running to be the events officer for the ACS as I want to make more people feel welcome to come to our society events.
I have had experience in organising events for charity, whether that be private events or events for a large group of people, such as community events in my estate where I helped organise events for over 200 residents. As your events officer, I can promise you that my organisational skills and expertise in event planning makes me the most suitable candidate for the job. I will liaise with members of the committee to create events which cater to everyone's needs, whether that be having a girls night, no alcohol or doing events in collaboration with other societies, not just at UCL but other universities too!
Ultimately as your events officer I would love to create events which everyone can enjoy. Some things I would hope to put into place would be as follows:
- Regular email and social media updates about events so you don't forget!
- More events that allow the society to work alongside charities to raise awareness about the issues impacting our people
- Having a culture night in collaboration with other universities so we can meet new people and share our experiences from different backgrounds
I believe that my experience in event planning on a large scale provides me with the necessary skills to be your events officer.
Vote Aya to be your ACS events officer now:)
