Karis Lai

Hi everyone, I’m Karis, a second-year Medical Innovation and Enterprise student, and I’m excited to run for the role of Events Director. Being part of 180DC has given me invaluable insights into consulting, and I want to make our events more engaging, structured, and impactful.

Why Me?

Proven Large-Scale Event Management Experience

  • Led mentorship programs, case competitions, and conferences with external speakers at UCL Consulting Society and MedTech Society.
  • Organized a fair with 100+ participants from multiple schools in high school, showing my ability to handle cross-institutional events.

Strong Industry & External Relations Skills.

  • Understands how to design events that are structured, insightful, and engaging for all participants.
  • Secured high-profile speakers and sponsorships, demonstrating my ability to bring in top-tier industry professionals

My Vision

  •  Invite former 180DC consultants now working in top firms to share how they landed offers and what they wish they had known earlier.
  • Interactive Case Study Challenge – Instead of just teaching frameworks, introduce live case-solving sessions where attendees work in teams and get real-time feedback from consultants.
  • Collaborate with other UCL societies (e.g., Finance, Law, Tech) to bring in a wider variety of professionals and expand networking opportunities.

With my experience in consulting, stakeholder management, and leadership, I am confident to elevate the quality and impact of 180DC UCL’s events
