Candidates

Maya Mehrotra

Hi I'm Maya! Having been a team lead in year 1 and your Consulting Exec this year,  I have enjoyed overseeing our social-impact projects, meeting new people, and truly growing as an individual. I am therefore ready to take the next leap by running for Consulting Director.

I aim to:
-Secure 9 projects per term. I understand the inclination towards strategy deliverables and will liaise with our clients to accommodate this. I will continue to secure sustainability and digital transformation projects, and want to also introduce health-related ones
-Secure projects from at least 4 B-corps/start-ups each term to diversify deliverables
-Engage with partner firms and beyond to organise training and skill-building workshops throughout the year (think-cell, project management/client relations etc)
-Improve support for team-leads particularly at kick-off, midterms & final presentations by reviewing decks, helping with brainstorming, providing prompt feedback, and resolving client communication issues
-Refine our recruitment scoring, ensuring marking is more consistent

My time in 180DC has strengthened my leadership skills, and equipped me with knowledge of how the society runs! I have pitched our society to orgs, successfully acquired multiple projects this year, and have maintained positive relationships with our clients. Having also won best relationship with mentors, I am confident in my ability to engage with our partners to organise quality training for you.

I hope you will consider me!

Karis Lai

Hi everyone, I’m Karis, a second-year Medical Innovation and Enterprise student, and I’m excited to run for the role of Consulting Director. Being part of 180DC has given me invaluable insights into consulting. I have developed a structured and analytical approach to consulting, which I now hope to apply to securing high-quality projects, strengthening client relationships, and enhancing the overall consulting experience for our members.

Why Me?

  • I’ve represented UCL in inter-uni case competitions, gaining first-hand experience in structured problem-solving and understanding what makes a project engaging and valuable.
  • I am experienced in securing sponsorships, engaging with external organizations, and facilitating collaborations at UCL MedTech Society.
  • I have led initiatives that involved organizing mentorship programs, structuring consulting case studies, and ensuring smooth execution of strategic projects.

My Vision

  • Securing High-Impact Projects
    • Source diverse consulting engagements in key industries like healthcare, sustainability, and technology.
    • Strengthen long-term client partnerships for better project continuity and growth.
  • Enhancing Client Relations & Project Oversight
    • Introduce structured feedback loops to improve consultant performance.

With my experience in consulting, stakeholder management, and leadership, I aim to elevate the quality and impact of 180DC UCL’s consulting projects.

Raymond Chan

Hi! I'm Raymond, a second-year Economics student, ambassador, and proudly, 180DC Consultant. To cut the waffle: my vision is to elevate impact while putting our CONSULTANTS FIRST.

  • Impact & Value: Source high-value, strategic projects that go beyond surface-level recommendations, delivering real results and practical learning for consultants.
  • Innovation: Integrate new project structures,  AI tools, and innovative techniques to pioneer our work.
  • Transferable Skills:  Provide more training and resources to equip our consultants with practical skills via professional methodologies.
  • Stronger Partnerships: Build long-term relationships with organisations, securing diverse and high-quality projects that broaden our consultants’ exposure.

Join me to build a consultant-centric 180DC—where every project generates value, every consultant gets skills, and every experience is a stepping stone toward BIG 4S.

Max Cameron

I am Max Cameron, a BSc Social Sciences with Data Science student at UCL. This year, I have had the opportunity to work on two 180DC projects—CarbonTag, where I developed expansion strategies through social media, and Real Zero, crafting a youth engagement strategy for climate action in healthcare. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping my passion for consulting, and I am eager to take on a leadership role to expand access to these opportunities for others.

Beyond consulting, I have led Movember fundraisers, managing a team of students to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, and served on my secondary school’s Economics Society committee, organising discussions and guest speaker events.

As a Consulting Director, I will secure more high-quality projects, ensuring more students gain hands-on consulting experience. I hope to earn your nomination and support to broaden 180DC’s impact, strengthen client partnerships, and provide more students with this invaluable opportunity.

Snehit Shroff

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I have actively sought opportunities to lead, create impact, and support aspiring consultants in developing the foundational skills needed for success. My experiences in strategy consulting, financial analysis, and market research have not only deepened my expertise but also reinforced my passion for mentoring and community-building.

As a Strategy Consultant at Blackmont Consulting and a Team Lead at London Strategic Consulting, I worked on diverse projects spanning biotech, healthcare, and financial services, developing structured problem-solving skills, client communication expertise, and financial modeling capabilities. These experiences have shown me first-hand how analytical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability are essential for success in consulting, while developing my ability to lead and manage a team to drive successful projects effectively. This experience led me to my candidacy for the Consulting Director position at 180 Degrees Consulting as a milestone to continue to develop my leadership abilities and impart my experience onto aspiring consultants.

However, breaking into consulting can often feel overwhelming for students without direct exposure to the industry. This is where 180 Degrees Consulting can make a difference—by providing a structured, supportive environment where students can apply their knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and build relationships that extend beyond their projects.

Maksym Gurevych

Hey everyone,

I’ll keep this message brief and informative.

I am nominating myself for the position of Consulting Director for the next academic year because I want to contribute to 180DC beyond my current involvement in consulting projects. My experience as a 180DC Consultant has deepened my interests and passions in this field, and I hope that by taking on this role, I can support the society on a larger scale—contributing to multiple projects simultaneously while guiding and mentoring new consultants.

I will ensure that our consultants’ experiences next year are even greater and more impactful than they have been this year. I also look forward to working with the committee to place consultants on projects that match their passions and interests, fostering stronger engagement and enthusiasm.

Furthermore, I will work hard to make the upcoming recruitment process transparent and straightforward for both new and returning applicants.

Thank you for your time and support.

Your candidate,

Maksym

Ivan Law

Dear 180DC Members,

This year, as a Sponsorship and Partnership Executive, I had the amazing opportunity to “leverage synergies” (yes, I just said that) with industry professionals and help organize insightful events for our members. But beyond sponsorships, I also stepped into the world of consulting in our Term One project—and that experience was truly best practice.

Working with a real client, identifying key challenges, and seeing our strategic frameworks actually implemented was a moment of pure consultant joy. No slide decks collecting dust—real impact, real results. And let’s be honest, nothing beats the rush of making a solid recommendation and hearing, "That’s brilliant!" instead of "Let’s take this offline."

That’s why I’m deloitted (I mean, delighted) to be stepping up as Consulting Director—because 180DC isn’t just about advising NGOs; it’s about making real change happen (without the PowerPoint fatigue) and accelerating your career journey. I want to continue 180DC’s legacy of providing meaningful consulting experiences and a community where consulting is for everyone.

At 180DC, we turn problems into solutions and students into consultants—and I’d love to take that to the next level with you all.

So, let’s circle back (but for real this time) and make an impact worth remembering.

Vote for me, and let’s make consulting in 180DC as MECE as it gets—clear, structured, and full of opportunity!

Charlie Beeston

I am excited to run for Consulting Director to source and secure high-quality projects and develop first class training resources for consultants.

As an Associate Consultant (and now Project Lead) at Global Research Consulting (GRC) in Singapore, I have greatly benefited from the materials, resources, and opportunities provided by directors. Now, I am eager to give back by securing even better opportunities for aspiring consultants. I will achieve this by listening to consultants and addressing their needs and goals.

What makes me a strong candidate is my proven experience in client – focused consulting. I understand how to build and maintain strong client relationships, having collaborated with Nepalese social entrepreneurs and Singaporean mental health volunteers.

Having recently placed 3rd out of 126 teams in a PwC Case Competition, I understand what resources and training are most valuable for consultants. I am excited to share my knowledge of slide decks and structured thinking to help consultants excel.

I also understand what top-tier consulting firms expect, having networked and interacted with associates and partners at MBB. I will use these insights to ensure our projects align with industry standards, ensuring that consultants are fully prepared for their high-impact careers.

I am committed to creating a pipeline of exciting, high-value projects while equipping our consultants with the skills needed to deliver outstanding results.

So, please vote for me!

Ashley Wong

Hi! I’m Ashley, a current 180DC consultant running to be your Consulting Director! From contributing to consulting projects to engaging in hands-on volunteering, I align with 180DC’s mission to drive meaningful social impact through innovative solutions and sustainable growth.

As Consulting Director, I will ensure the following:

  • Impactful Projects: Source exciting, high-impact projects that inspire our consultants, focusing on areas like climate action, sustainability, and global initiatives. Let’s move away from mundane tasks and deliver strategic solutions that matter.
  • Enhanced Training: Revamp our onboarding process with a comprehensive induction program and expand Case Clubs to provide quality training throughout the year. I’ll also introduce a Buddy Scheme to pair experienced consultants with newcomers for better collaboration and support.
  • Collaboration & Growth: Work closely with clients, consultants, and the 180DC team to foster strong relationships and ensure our projects align with our mission. I’ll also explore partnerships to broaden our reach and impact.

Reflecting on my high school experience as Head of Internal Operations for an event funding show, I’ve developed strong skills in strategic planning, problem-solving, and teamwork. These experiences have prepared me to take on the role of Consulting Director and contribute to 180DC’s continued success.

Thank you for your support! Together, let’s make 180DC an even more impactful and inspiring community!

Leni Wei

Hey guys!

Leni here. Some of you might already know me, but for those who don’t, here’s a quick introduction about myself. Despite my Chinese roots, I was born and raised in Spain! I’m currently a first year Management Science student and have had the privilege of being a project consultant at 180º for the past 2 terms. I’m running for Consulting Director because I want to help shape the future of this incredible society and create an environment where every single one of our members can thrive and exceed their own limits.

I have been able to gain so much as a project consultant in 180º. Through sponsorship and market entry projects, I have sharpened my communication and client-facing skills. I still remember the nerves I had when standing in front of the Clarasys consultants during Midterms, but through the challenges, I learned how to lead, think on my feet, and develop impactful solutions.

Now, I want to pay everything back. I know firsthand how transformative this society can be, and I want to ensure that every member gets the support, training and opportunities they need! My goal is to ensure this by delivering high quality projects while also maintaining strong relationship with our clients.

If you are looking for a consulting director who is passionate, driven and dedicated to your success, I’d be honored to have your vote! Let’s build something amazing together!
