Beatriz Silva

As the potential head of marketing at UCL's Women in Finance society, I'd be passionate about developing our niche further and marketing our society as a catalyst in empowering women to succeed in diverse financial career paths and personal aspirations. I aim to leverage our mentorship program as a main selling point, showcasing the expertise within our society. To enhance this, I propose crafting an in-depth guide to complement it, offering resources like sample cover letters and detailed insights into various firms, ensuring our members can excel despite being minorities in many fields like corporate finance, investment banking, and tech.

To further distinguish ourselves, I would be passionate about launching a podcast or webinar series featuring successful women in finance, providing insights and positioning our society as a thought leader. Additionally, I envision collaborating with other London women societies, such as LSE and KCL Women in Business on social media campaigns to expand our reach, foster a sense of community, and market our society beyond the confinements of UCL.

In summary, I aim to maintain our proven marketing strategies (actively managing our social media pages, engaging with members on group chats, and ensuring our website remains updated) while also introducing innovative initiatives to make our society a beacon of support and empowerment for women with passions in finance.

Sarah Car

Hi, I am Sarah and I study Dutch and Management Studies.

I only found out about the Women in Finance Society through a friend this year! As a commuting student I think it was great to find such an accessible society which hosts professional and amazing events, like the HSBC Share the Vision event.

I am eager to connect with more like minded people, and cannot think of a better way than to offer my full commitment to the society. As the head of marketing I would make sure no one gets to miss out, by making sure everyone hears about us. Be that through Online (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and the Website) or in person (posters around UCL and eye catching stalls).

I hope you vote for me to join the team for the year 24/25

Michelle Zhou

I am very committed to Women in Finance and want my contributions to make our community stronger! As a female heading into finance, I firmly believe in the impact of female empowerment in the sector. I want Women in Finance to bring in more solid support in our careers, more insightful talks and discussions, more opportunities around the world, and greater support among us finance girls!

If you have any ideas or expectations on Women in Finance, let me know and our team will let it happen! In my 1 year of membership at Women in Finance, I enjoyed so many valuable opportunities connecting us with top finance professionals and intelligent female peers. And I saw our strengths in helping proactive students like us in pursuing our dream careers in finance. I have more than 5 years of society leadership experiences specialising in marketing and social media running. I will collaborate closely with other committee members, supporting high-quality career events that bring together students, top employers, and finance professionals, fostering a greater female community for everyone!

Anouk Elfassy

Dear Members of Women in Finance,

It is with great enthusiasm that I stand before you as a candidate for the esteemed position of Head of Marketing. In embarking on this journey, I bring not only a fervent dedication to our organization but also a diverse set of skills and experiences that I believe uniquely qualify me for this role.

As a first-year student in management science, I have immersed myself in the intricacies of finance and management, seeking to expand my knowledge and skills in these fields. Alongside my academic pursuits, my passion for photography has been a constant source of inspiration and creativity in my life. Through the lens of my camera, I have learned to capture moments and tell stories, skills that I believe can be effectively utilized in marketing strategies to engage and captivate our audience.

Moreover, my experience in communication and event management, honed through my involvement in various hobbies, has equipped me with valuable skills that are directly applicable to the role of Head of Marketing. Whether coordinating events, managing social media campaigns, or crafting compelling messaging, I have consistently demonstrated my ability to effectively communicate and engage with diverse audiences.

This year, I have had the privilege of being a part of our society, and I am immensely grateful for the support and guidance it has provided me. From assistance with applying to spring programs to facilitating networking opportunities, the resources and mentorship I have received have been

Michelle Prajitno

Hi everyone, my name is Michelle and I am studying BSc Economics and Statistics. Since joining UCL, the WiF Society has provided me invaluable guidance on career-related applications through their development programmes and speaker events. These helped me secure a Spring Weeks offer and I would like to contribute to the society through a role as the Head of Marketing.

I am particularly interested in this role as it aligns with both my passion and my previous experiences. Besides having a lot of experience in using photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Canva for personal purposes, I am the Creative Media Executive of the Indonesian Student Association in London (PPI London) which is an extension of the Indonesian Embassy. I am responsible for designing all marketing materials on social media platforms such as Instagram, as well as website management. These past experiences have fostered and strengthened my skills in creating, managing and promoting events both online and offline.

I truly believe that Marketing forms one of the backbones of any society, as it is vital to increase awareness of the society’s events and create interesting campaigns to encourage active student engagement and participation. I hope to be given the opportunity to apply my skills to this role as a creative talent and represent the society and its initiatives professionally.

Ishanvi Arora

My involvement as a first-year representative, welfare officer and mentor in the women in finance society over the last 2 years has deepened my interest and passion to contribute to this society. I plan to make changes in the committee's current work. I hope to use our foundation and enhance it to ensure the Women In Finance Society is the place for any girl looking for a career in finance. I also aim to increase the socials we host to ensure that all members get adequate chances to network and meet like-minded individuals.

In an already male-dominated industry, it is important to empower each other and this society is a start in the right direction.

Here's why you should vote for me:

1. Elevating Our Society: I'll enhance our foundation to make our society the top choice for finance careers.

2. Empowering Your Success: I'll provide resources and support to help you thrive in finance.

3. Expanding Networking: More social events mean more chances to connect with others in the field.

4. Your Voice Matters: I'll advocate for ensuring our society meets your needs.

Together, let's make our investment society the best it can be.

I appreciate your support.
