Hello everyone!

Being part of the committee last year opened my eyes to how much time and effort everyone puts into becoming better players. This fortitude makes the volleyball society special. It also means our society has the potential to be even greater. That is why my focus as Vice President will be to enable our competitive teams to reach greater heights as well as provide our social members with the facilities and equipment to achieve their own goals.

To do this, my goal is to implement more communication streams between the committee and our members to increase transparency. This will take the form of an even stronger social media presence to support both our teams and our social events. In addition, a biweekly newsletter will boost participation at our events and bring more courtside support to our amazing competitive teams.

I believe everyone deserves to have their effort and goals realised. Therefore, if elected I will do my utter best to "set" up everyone to smash their own goals.

Mario Iau Graca Ribeiro

Hey everyone! I'm Mario, the current men’s team captain, and I would be honoured to be the club’s next Vice President. I'm passionate about volleyball and committed to ensuring everyone has a great experience, whether it's their first or 1000th time on the court.

My overall goals for next season would be to support the committee by bringing in my experience and planning skills that I enhanced over the past year. I plan to work closely with team captains and HEVO’s to ensure all sessions, training, and matches are organised and provide any support when needed. One of the main issues I would like to solve is the matter of equipment across all sectors of the club. Better nets, more balls, and jerseys that actually fit, are all things that we wished could have been dealt with this year. By working together closely as a committee, we can solve these issues.

As men’s team captain this year I worked closely with the club president (Morris) to ensure everything ran smoothly throughout. I have a very strong understanding of how this club should be run, but more importantly, I have insights on areas for improvement so this club can continue to grow bigger and better. My experience organising travel, training, and other team details will aid me in supporting the next president and committee. Most importantly, I will ensure that all competitive teams and social club members will continue to have a safe and fun experience at UCL volleyball.
