Dear lovely Vietnamese people,

I am writing to express my interest in the role of the Welfare Officer within the VietSoc at our university. As the therapist friend for most of my friend groups, I am confident to say that I'm a decent, if not, a great listener. I believe I am a friendly and empathetic person who can start a conversation with anyone and offer advice when and if needed.

I am confident that my passion for inclusivity and promoting better mental health for students like us nowadays, coupled with my people skills, will allow me to, hopefully, help out members in any way possible and make them feel a bit closer to home. This includes international students who will need help with settling down in UCL and the UK overall.

Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the loving Vietnamese community.

Dear wonderful members of the UCL Vietnamese Society,

I've always had a knack for connecting with others, from the elderly to the little ones. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, I volunteered at a shelter for homeless and disabled children. It was there that I learned the true meaning of compassion and resilience, lessons that have stayed with me ever since.

So, why do I want to be a Welfare Officer for the UCL Vietnamese Society?

It's simple. I am Vietnamese and love Vietnam, and I love sharing that love with others. I've been inspired by the hard work and dedication of the 23-24 committee members who've brought our community together with their events and activities. Being a part of Vietsoc feels like being with family, and I want to continue that feeling for everyone.

I see a bright future for UCL Vietsoc, one where we continue to celebrate and share Vietnamese culture with the world. With the support of past committees and all of you, I know we can make it happen. If I am a Welfare Officer at UCL Vietnamese Society, I will contribute to Vietnamese Society with all my passion, ensure a healthy community where everyone is fully and equally cared for and shared at UCL Vietnamese Society, and help other committees as well.

Here's to a future filled with friendship, unity, and lots of fun!

Warm regards,

Anna Tran.
