United Nations Association: Vice-President (Academics)

I am running for re-election as VP of Academics.

During my last term, I achieved the following:

• UCLUNA went back to having one MUN simulation per week thanks to changes made to the topic-choosing system and to how our social media was run (as opposed to 2/3 simulations per term before I was elected)
• UCLUNA's approach to conferences was reformed, with structures put in place to ensure a coherent and cohesive delegation for each conference, with a rotating choice of Head Delegates (See UCLUNA 2023/2024 Direction Paper for more)
• Served as the Deputy Secretary General of UCLMUN - a conference that we built from scratch (4.2/5 stars on MyMUN and 175 delegates) 

Having spent way too much time and money attending conferences during my first year (almost every conference UCL sends delegations to in addition to WorldMUN), I have not been to any this academic year, focusing instead on behind-the-scenes work. I hope these efforts can be recognised despite their inherent invisibility for those who have not been long-term members of our society. Still, I will be back at conferences next year! 

If re-elected, I can assure you that we will ensure UCLUNA continues to grow in numbers, strength, and standing. I have proven the contribution I can make to our society in the past, and I am ready to make an even greater one. 

Hi guys it's Megan here, and I'm a 2nd year PIR student. I'm running for VP Acads after joining UCLUNA at the beginning of this academic year. I served as one of the three USG of Academics for UCLMUN in 2023, and had an amazing time. After joining QMUN, LIMUN, while preparing for upcoming conferences, I understand the responsibility of being on the committee, and I believe that it is my time to contribute to this wonderful and wholesome family (YES I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH).  

If I am elected as your VP Acads, I will continue to strengthen our team's academic excellence, participate in various MUN conferences, and explore more overseas conference opportunities. I will also organise training sessions alongside the MUN Director and Training Officers, to ensure that everyone in UCLUNA is more than happy and prepared to enjoy debate (WE ARE THE BEST NO OBJECTIONS ALLOWED). 

Finally, I will establish supportive relationships with not just everyone on the committee, but also everyone in UCLUNA, since we are such a loving community with everyone being so welcoming to one another. I will also be there for everyone if they want to hang out, or just to have a chat (WORK HARD PLAY HARD LEZZZZ GOOOO!!!!)
