Fiona Blair

Hi! My name is Fiona and I’m a first year economics student.

After joining UCL tennis this year I have loved the sense of openness and community that there is. From complete beginner to seasoned professionals I truly believe that there is the opportunity for everyone to get involved and improve which is what makes UCL tennis so great. As a frequent attendee of both R&D and LUSL Rec practice sessions, I have loved the opportunity to meet so many new people and I would love the chance to get more involved. What makes LUSL Rec stand out for me is the friendly and chill atmosphere where everyone is simply there to have a hit, whether it be competitive or simply a game of dingles, you can really make the sessions your own.

I hope that my good organisational skills and communication will allow me to successfully organise matches and training sessions which are fun and accessible with an emphasis on creating an inclusive environment. I believe my leadership skills, flexibility and commitment to UCL tennis would make me a great candidate for this position and I would love to help make LUSL Rec the best it can be. I look forward to getting to know everyone better and to what is in store for UCL tennis next :)

Daniel Chan

LUSL Rec is a great community, and it has been a good learning experience serving as captain this year. I'd like to take a step further next year, providing more variety in sessions rather than just pure hitting, and finding new ways to bridge the gap between competitive team players and recreational players looking to improve. I would also hope to do more with recruiting next year, especially to get the word about LUSL Rec out there to those not just in RnD, but those not in the tennis club already. Let's run it back.
