TEDx Society: Treasurer

Hello! My name is Jing, and I am a Law student at UCL. As a current member of the TEDx Society Committee, I hope to be able to continue being part of this fantastic initiative and participate in the work TEDx does. This is why I am standing for TEDx Society Treasurer this year. 

Having been the secretary for TEDx, I have first-hand knowledge of how TEDx organises their events and will be able to use my experience to further build on what we have made. As the secretary, I was able to hone my organisational skills, problem-solving skills as well as improve my attention to detail. These skills are readily transferrable to the role of treasurer. I was also party to many of the decisions relating to the expenses for the annual conference, and thus have the required know-how on how to spend our budget effectively. 

As the treasurer, I will work hard to support the society and other committee members by managing our budget diligently and ethically. I will achieve this by ensuring all accounts are in order and maintaining accurate accounting records.

As this year will be my final year, I hope to be able to leave my mark on UCL, no matter how small. I have been a part of the TEDx Society Committee since I first began studying in UCL, and I hope to see it through to the end. I look forward to working with everyone to create more opportunities for students to share amazing ideas.
