Swimming Club: Marketing and Kit Officer

Hello everyone, it's Amy here! I've been a part of the swimming club for 2 years and a part of the committee as the marketing & kit officer for the past year. I ran the club's social media, answered queries from "ucl.swimstagram" backstage, and designed posts for a variety of events like sports night and varsity. Also, I'll design and order merch that is upcoming later in the year! I'm proficient in graphic design and have experience in communicating with different people and societies. For the coming year, I'll continue to design original and fun posts to grow the social media account, post more insights about day-to-day trainings, and keep you all updated with what's coming up next!

I'm passionate about swimming and I train for sprint triathlon. Swimming with the fitness squad and working as a committee member have been the highlight of my university life. It has enabled me to meet lots of great swimmers as well as improve my own skills. So, I hope to continue to share my passion with more swimmers and build the society better together! 

I have always had a passion centred towards design, showcasing and promoting a variety of different things. My experience in volunteering as social secretary for my swimming and netball team in college helped me to develop key artistic and organisational skills which helped me achieve great designs for the club’s kits as well as good promotion, which would make me the perfect candidate to run for marketing and kit officer. During the past few months, I have noticed that the swimming club has no sport merch, no fleeces, no t-shirts, no jackets for the UCL swimming club or the fitness swimming, and when compared to other sport societies, it really is lacking.I would love to be able to bring in new designs for the UCL swimming kit and add those to the UCL sports society online shop for people part of swimming to buy and wear proudly, ranging from t-shirts, fleeces to hoodies and jackets. My background in design and having had some experience in kit design previously, I think this role would benefit me and the team.
